Position Announcement
The University of Oregon's Mathematics Department invites applications for a tenure-track AssistantProfessor position in pure mathematics, to begin in fall 2025. Competitive applicants will have a record of research excellence, a demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching, and a commitment to promoting an inclusive community.
Department or Program Summary
We are a diverse and growing department with strengths in Algebraic Geometry, Analysis, Combinatorics, Differential Geometry, Mathematical Biology, Number Theory, Representation Theory, Topology, and Probability. The department has a thriving Ph.D. program with approximately 60 graduate students, 33 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 8 postdocs, and 15 lecturers. We particularly welcome applications from scholars who are from populations historically underrepresented in the academy, and/or who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
In addition to our focus on research excellence, our department is constantly adjusting to improve our undergraduate and graduate experience. For example, in recent years we have gathered statistics for gateway classes and classes with high failure rates or high inequity in grade distributions, we have revised the curriculum, prerequisites, and pedagogy of various math sequences, we have streamlined the process for graduate qualifying exams, and we have started a peer mentoring program for recently-declared majors.
Junior faculty in mathematics will be supported through the transition to tenure, including reduced service expectations and access to university-wide programs (which include new faculty mentorship, and training in teaching through the Teaching Engagement Program). The math department invests in the success of each new member and seeks to support faculty in successful and impactful careers while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Position Summary
The University of Oregon's Education Studies Department (EDST) in the College of Education seeks to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill periodic vacancies for temporary teaching appointments. Instructors teach primarily undergraduate-level courses and lecturers teach primarily graduate-level courses. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. Appointments may range from one to three terms per year, including summer.
Some courses meet during evenings or weekends or are delivered to distant sites via video conferencing. Some courses are offered exclusively online; in these cases, instructors should make themselves available for student contact via email, Zoom office hours, or phone in lieu of in-person office hours. Teach courses that train students in hands-on automotive repair, diagnostics,
and shop safety- the same skills and standards used in today's professional
service centers. Specific teaching assignments will include your evaluation of
and feedback to the students related to their learning and ability to complete

Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Automotive and/or Diesel repair or a closely related field,
plus a minimum of four years of full-time experience in Automotive and/or
Diesel repair. Or, 7 years of documented industry experience.
Experience must include diagnostics and repairs in suspension, steering, brakes, drive train,
electrical/electronic systems, and hydraulic systems. Also requires ASE

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical Skills and Abilities: Learned physical required to operate equipment and tools. Changes in

Work is performed under the supervision of a Supervisor who reviews work primarily on the basis of direct observation and feedback from participants. Plan, organize and instruct dance technique, composition, and choreography related to dance style with appropriate combinations and/or routines; includes but not limited to ballet, modern, jazz, folk, tap or hip hop; provides and prepares appropriate music for format.
Provides class instruction and demonstrates knowledge, skill and ability in specific dance composition(s).
Develops dance class(es) with appropriate combinations, sequences, and/or curriculum; selects and prepares appropriate supplies or equipment for class(es), where appropriate.
Design and implement dance class curriculum which includes warm-up, combination/ routine review, and cool-down.
Collaborates with Coordinator/Supervisor staff to develop, plan and schedule classes.
Includes and instructs multiple levels of modifications for each dance class to allow participation.
Practices safe work habits and maintains a safe environment. Monitors participant safety during class and if necessary, provides first aid. Follows standard procedure for emergencies for the facility where class is held. Complete and submit patron incident reports.
Address program specific risk management/safety issues.
Greets students as they enter the class area. Responds to questions from participants regarding purpose of specific movement/routines and other dance-related topics.
Provides excellent internal and external customer service. Offers a positive experience for patrons and co-workers.
Distributes program evaluations to participants. Maintains confidentiality and respects patron privacy during evaluation process. Submits evaluations to supervisors and remains open to constructive feedback. Reviews feedback and utilizes information to enhance program.
Ensures all participants are signed in and maintain appropriate records regarding class participation. Set up and maintain computer and scanning station prior to class as required.
Prepares facility for class including equipment, lights, fans, water station and sound equipment. Cleans up area and returns all equipment to appropriate storage area at end of work shift.
Communicate with staff regarding facility, equipment and supply needs. Request purchase of supplies, coordinating expenditures with District policies.
Monitor participant behavior to ensure an environment where everyone feels welcomed, included, safe and respected while participating.
Respond professionally to questions, suggestions, and concerns from participants and staff regarding programs, activities, policies and practices.
Remain personally accountable in seeking resolution to misunderstandings, conflicts, or performance of self or others. Respond positively to correction and accepts direction.
Attend staff orientations and trainings, as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: Essential knowledge of respective dance class format; principles of class instruction, cardiovascular fitness, neuromotor, balance, flexibility, muscular endurance and endurance; safety practices and precautions in performing routines. Knowledge and skill to suggest modifications of movements to participants with injuries or limitations. Principles of group dynamics and group interaction and emergency procedures and accident site management.
Skills: Instruct and demonstrate dance combinations safely and effectively to groups of varied ages and abilities; ability to perform and instruct all dance combination or routines of assigned specialization. Maintain neat and clean appearance. Follow and give instructions in a courteous and professional manner. Interpret, explain, follow and apply District policies, keep accurate records and establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, other staff members, program participants and the general public.
Abilities: Communicate dance routine instructions both verbally and by demonstration; observe and correct improper techniques; modify combination for individual needs; select movements and/or music that is appropriate, safe and interesting to participants; counsel and motivate participants during class. Ability to provide good customer service in challenging situations. Ability to administer First Aid and CPR and follow emergency procedures. Identify and prevent hazards and maintain safe environment.
Physical Demands of the Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, twist, jump, and stoop both indoors and outdoors. The position requires mobility including the ability to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis such as storing, setting up and cleaning up equipment and supplies. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 75% of the work period. Exposure to loud noise is low and never necessitates hearing protection. These 3-5 day long programs have us providing outdoor experiential education to public school students throughout Oregon. This position is both for candidates who are based near/in the Benton County Oregon area who can work locally OR also have the ability to travel.
Travel to various sites throughout Oregon, transportation & lodging typically available
Facilitate outdoor learning modules with provided curriculum to groups of 5-25 students

Work with teen, parent, and/or community volunteers

Position Summary
The University of Oregon's Special Education and Clinical Sciences (SPECS) Department in the College of Education seeks to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill periodic instructional vacancies for temporary teaching assignments. The department anticipates hiring instructors for undergraduate or lecturers for graduate-level courses in the following content areas: instruction and assessment; behavior management; transition; educational and psychological foundations; methods of teaching (elementary and secondary); child and adolescent studies; multicultural education; special education law, behavior assessment, educational assessment, intellectual assessment, academic and behavioral interventions, school-based consultation, developmental psychopathology, child and family interventions, principles and practices in school psychology, school-based practicum or other school psychology, research and education-related areas. Key Responsibilities
45% Teaching:
Primary teaching duties include teaching courses in Oregon State University's Business Information Systems program in in-person, online and/or hybrid format. Teaching should contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts, such as: provide opportunities for students from underrepresented groups; enable the advancement of diverse perspectives; and promote equitable outcomes among learners of diverse and underrepresented identity groups.
45% Scholarship:
Demonstrated through the successful dissemination of research results, including but not limited to peer-refereed scholarly journals. Other contributions may be considered.
10% Service:
Engagement in activities both in the University and the profession and contributing to the College and University strategic initiatives. Service contributions that support DEI efforts and/or foster a more inclusive academic community are encouraged.
What You Will Need
* Ph.D. in a field appropriate to position duties; e.g., MIS, IS, BIS, CIS, etc.
* Evidence of potential for research and scholarly publications in leading Information Systems journals.
* Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and a commitment to advancing the participation of diverse groups and supporting diverse perspectives.
