What You Will Do Utilize your experience to perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting Creates initial concept packages with a strong design story, to guide the design process through project completion Conducts programming efforts through space planning studies to arrive at final approved plan that meet the goals of clients Sculpts interior spaces as a holistic experience including specification of furniture, lighting, artwork and finishes/materials Leads day-to-day project coordination efforts with the ability to prioritize deadlines, manage communication and coordination with clients and consultants Communicates conceptual design ideas through 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives Participates in the construction administration of projects - including review of submittals and finish samples as well as value engineering efforts to maintain design intent Your Qualifications NCIDQ or RID Certification required Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related field from an accredited program 5+ years of interior design experience Strong proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software Detailed understanding of FF&E design and deliverables (furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications) Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly Passionate, self-starting, intelligent, dedicated, efficient LEED Accreditation a plus TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE SUBMIT A CURRENT PORTFOLIO AND/OR WORK SAMPLES IN PDF FORMAT This position is in-person. Reports to the RNC Lead Designer and Construction Manager. This position will entail the entire design process including, but not limited to, AutoCAD, Manual J load Calculations, and Plan review and revisions for new construction projects and retro fit replacement projects. The assistant designer will also be responsible for providing equipment selection and sizing and will be working closely with Construction and Sales Managers to make sure needs are met. The focus will be on quality, efficient, and cost-effective design with an attempt to reduce cost where/when possible. Duties Assists the designer, estimator, sales department, and field supervisors on matters related to designing new custom residential home construction projects and remodels. Perform and review HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, and system sizing per ACCA Standards Experience using Wrightsoft for performing Manual J8 (Load) calculations with the inclusion of current specification (builder and code specific) Design working drawings of HVAC layouts derived from Manual J load calculations, and Manual D duct design using AutoCAD or other drawing programs Be able to do plan Take offs and procurement of material and equipment for both departments Organize scope into major categories to determine primary timetable for deliverables/milestones.
