About the Role To keep up with our growth, we are seeking a Take Off and Design Associate who will work closely with our Technical Solutions Manager to develop take-offs, conceptual designs, initial estimates, and final quotes for large custom projects. This role is a full time, salaried role that directly reports to the General Manager. This role will be in-office where day-to-day work will occur in the Texas office. This role will require up to 15% travel requirements, fully paid by the company, to various locations depending on business needs. About You You think like a builder and thrive in a technical, detail-oriented environment. You take pride in producing accurate designs and estimates that set projects up for success. You're highly organized, track progress meticulously, and hold yourself to the highest standards of quality and precision. Collaboration comes naturally; you communicate clearly across teams, work closely with customers, and know when to lead or support. You're proactive and adaptable. Above all, you care deeply about delivering exceptional work that meets both technical and business goals. Essential Functions Take-offs, Concept Design, and Estimating. Develop take-offs, conceptual designs, initial estimates, and final quotes for large custom projects. Work closely with the customer to understand project needs and reflect those in the design and estimate. Work with procurement team and suppliers to understand project costs and lead times. Track project from initial concept through bid phase to final purchase. Create timely and accurate submittal drawings using CAD software. Maintain organized records of take-off data and project metrics. Ensure a smooth hand-off to RPH Engineering team and relevant vendors for drawings, production, and delivery. General Technical Support. Support overall company needs related to new product development, marketing, product improvements, regulatory compliance, quality control, and product testing and certifications. Develop architectural drawings showing installed product. Support marketing and business development initiatives with drawings and technical information. Assist in providing technical answers to customer inquiries. Produce other drawings as needed. Participate and provide input as a member of the Product Team. Perform onsite inspections as needed. Core Requirements Experience in design engineering, commercial estimating, and field construction management in a relevant commercial building products business (commercial roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or mechanical). Extensive experience with sheet metal fabrication and equipment. Proficient in AutoCAD required, SolidWorks preferred. Proficiency in Revit a plus. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects including custom sheet metal. Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills. Engineering degree (or similar) a plus. Details The starting compensation range for this position is $85,000 - 120,000 USD and will be determined based upon a candidate's experience and location. The typical working hours for this position are 8 am - 4:30 pm CST. This job position is exempt to overtime as determined by the FLSA standards. Travel is expected for this position up to 15%, which is anticipated to be occasionally overnight in several domestic locations.
