About the Role
To keep up with our growth, we are seeking a Take Off and DesignAssociate who will work closely with our Technical Solutions Manager to develop take-offs, conceptual designs, initial estimates, and final quotes for large custom projects.
This role is a full time, salaried role that directly reports to the General Manager. This role will be in-office where day-to-day work will occur in the Texas office. This role will require up to 15% travel requirements, fully paid by the company, to various locations depending on business needs.

Essential Functions
Take-offs, Concept Design, and Estimating.
Develop take-offs, conceptual designs, initial estimates, and final quotes for large custom projects.
Work closely with the customer to understand project needs and reflect those in the design and estimate.
Work with procurement team and suppliers to understand project costs and lead times.
Track project from initial concept through bid phase to final purchase.
Create timely and accurate submittal drawings using CAD software.
Maintain organized records of take-off data and project metrics.
Ensure a smooth hand-off to RPH Engineering team and relevant vendors for drawings, production, and delivery.
General Technical Support.
Support overall company needs related to new product development, marketing, product improvements, regulatory compliance, quality control, and product testing and certifications.
Develop architectural drawings showing installed product.
Support marketing and business development initiatives with drawings and technical information.
Assist in providing technical answers to customer inquiries.
Produce other drawings as needed.
Participate and provide input as a member of the Product Team.
Perform onsite inspections as needed.
Core Requirements
Experience in design engineering, commercial estimating, and field construction management in a relevant commercial building products business (commercial roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or mechanical).
Extensive experience with sheet metal fabrication and equipment.
Proficient in AutoCAD required, SolidWorks preferred.
Proficiency in Revit a plus.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects including custom sheet metal.
Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
Engineering degree (or similar) a plus.
Details
The starting compensation range for this position is $85,000 - 120,000 USD and will be determined based upon a candidate's experience and location.
The typical working hours for this position are 8 am - 4:30 pm CST.
This job position is exempt to overtime as determined by the FLSA standards.
Travel is expected for this position up to 15%, which is anticipated to be occasionally overnight in several domestic locations. International travel may be required in the future depending on business needs.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer Will:
Create computer-generated full-color graphics and/or vinyl output that can be printed and mounted to a substrate or weeded, cut and applied
Complete or modify designs from customer drawings, files, or exact output of customer-provided design for output to media
Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate
Maintain customer logo library; convert graphic files
Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer:
1-2 years of graphic design experience with sign industry experience preferred .
High School diploma or equivalent

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Distribution Designer primarily develops distribution designs for electrical systems under an Engineers instruction for project success.
Perform design calculations, estimates, and statistics using industry tools and methods.
Review field notes and prepare CAD plan and profile drawings using hand sketches and or transit shot information.
Perform analysis and design in PLS-CADD
Coordinate with field personnel concerning questions or missing items.
Prepare KMZ files and download image files from TNRIS website, as required.
Prepare TXDOT permit drawings and easements, acquire ROW maps as needed, coordinate with engineer to ensure ROW lines are properly drawn.
Prepare plan and profile drawings using design guides, GPS coordinate information, and staking sheet information including proposed pole height and framing information.
Maintain good project documentation, including calculations, telephone conversations, design decisions, rationale, and filing copies of all pertinent information.
Attend project meetings as necessary to coordinate design and address any issues.
Quality control project work to maintain the expected standards for project deliverables, including CAD work ensuring accurate scales, proper spelling, proper formatting, and completeness.
Share expertise and suggestion improvement on the process or techniques with others on the design team to increase overall effectiveness.
Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with key personnel with whom project work is interfaced with.
Stay abreast with changing technology and design methodologies associated with Transmission & Distribution design.
Ensure adherence to Client standards to develop detailed design plans for projects.
Perform administrative duties as required from time to time including mailings, office supply and documentation reproductions.
Maintain good project documentation.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree in Drafting or Design or equivalent industry experience (2+ years)

SKILLS:

Project Design Schedule Management
Maintain the schedule for design meetings, selections, and quotes to ensure timely completion.

Maintain detailed client notes and project documentation for seamless project handoff to Production.
Support During Construction Phase
Attend project handoff meetings and assist Project Managers with clarifying design details in sold projects.

Networking & Vendor Relations

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
The Senior Interior Designer will require the following responsibilities and experience:
