Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Part-time Community-Based Registered Nurse to join our innovative Ascent Team (first episode psychosis), supporting individuals living with primary psychotic disorders, primarily schizophrenia. This unique role offers flexibility (three 10-hour shifts/week, Monday-Friday between 8 AM-6 PM), professional autonomy, and the opportunity to build strong, trusting relationships by meeting clients in their home environments. As part of a highly communicative and supportive team that shares a collective caseload, you'll play a key role in promoting long-term recovery through creative, person-centered care. Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, enjoy working within complex systems, and have experience supporting teens and adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Schedule.
30 hours weekly. 0.75 FTE. Flexible schedule; 8am-6pm, Mondays-Fridays only. Requires in-person time Wednesdays, 9:30am-12:30pm.
Salary for this role.
Starting wage is based on licensure and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
$36.56 - $44.00 hourly
Bilingual Language Differential Pay.
*Rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency.
Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE). The bilingual differential will begin once the required proficiency level is met on the agency-approved language assessment.
About the team.
The Ascent Program is an evidence-based treatment modality that offers community-based support to youth and young adults for up to five years. We provide intensive wraparound mental health care to individuals aged 15-29 who are in the first 24 months of psychosis. Our program is guided by a shared decision-making approach which encompasses a multidisciplinary care team of psychiatrists, clinicians, case management, peer support, supported employment/education, and nursing.
Essential Functions:
Provide routine medication delivery and support to clients, caregivers/family members in the community, including administering long-acting injectable antipsychotics.
Document clear and concise notes regarding patients' condition, reaction to medication and treatments in EMR.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of the core Ascent/ACT principles.
Attend required (daily and/or weekly) team meetings.
Provide medical support to psychiatrist.
When appropriate, blood samples are collected in the community for processing. When samples cannot be collected in the community, nursing will assist client with transportation to the lab and/or coordination of care with outside agencies.
Monitor clients for signs and symptoms of acute illness and for changes in long-term chronic disease. This includes routine monitoring of vital signs and key health metrics, which will be entered into the EHR.
Instruct client/caregiver regarding medications and treatment instruction, tests ordered (i.e., lab orders).
Educate client/caregiver on possible lifestyle changes that may be necessary to promote optimal health.
Completes Prior Authorizations as required.
Adheres to agency policy and procedure as well as clinic protocols.
Have a good working knowledge of community resources for basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing when applicable.
Provide clients with psychosocial services to help support successful functioning in the community to include ADL's, education, employment, family functioning, and recreation.
Provide assessment for high-risk clients and when appropriate follow agency protocols for ensuing client safety.
Be available to respond to crises per agency policy/protocol. This may include coordination with third parties and/or law enforcement.
Be flexible with schedule which may include non-traditional hours, weekends, holidays and possible on-call.
Utilize program issued cell phone during work hours for team-related issues. Staff are expected to be responsive to calls and electronic communication when scheduled to work.
Coordinate with community providers for continuity of care and advocate for clients.
Support the clinical functions of the program team (completing all medical orders and communicating vital patient care information to physician/prescriber).
Perform nursing interventions within scope of practice, congruent with licensing.
Complete required education and training in a timely manner.
Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Associate's in Nursing required. A bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Active Colorado Registered Nurse Licensure (or compact license from another state) in good standing.
Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record that meets organization's requirements.
Preferred: one year of relevant clinical experience.
Ability to administer medications and injections.

The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a 24-hour, 16-bed facility providing intensive behavioral health crisis intervention for up to five days. Our multidisciplinary team includes Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Therapists, Case Managers, Milieu Counselors, and Peer Support Specialists. The position offers shift differentials and comprehensive benefits, making it an excellent opportunity for dedicated nursing professionals. The Registered Nurse will deliver exceptional clinical care for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises, with a focus on person-centered, compassionate treatment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and experienced in psychiatric nursing, with excellent de-escalation skills, sound clinical judgment, and an active RN license in good standing, along with current BLS certification.
Schedule. This position is fully Onsite/In-person, working three (3) 12-hour shifts per week. Available schedules are:
Day Shift: 6:30AM-7:00PM, varying days, some weekends required
NOC Shift: 6:30PM-7:00AM, varying days, some weekends required
Salary for this role.
The starting wage is based on licensure and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
$36.65 - $44.00 hourly
Shift Differential Pay. The Day weekend shift differential is paid from 7am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays only; the Swing shift differential is paid from 3pm to 11pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11pm to 7am.
Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $2.50
Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $4.00/hour
Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $5.00/hour
Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $2.75/hour

Qualifications
Requirements:
Associate's in Nursing required.

Under general supervision, the RN Utilization Review Coordinator will facilitate the appropriate status and level of care. This includes all commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and self-pay. These will be reviewed on a cadence defined in the specific workflow. All Reviews will be done to ensure compliance with all state, federal and third-party payors. They will communicate daily and as needed to the RN Care Coordinator, Clinical Social Worker and healthcare teams.
Essential Functions:
Status and Level of Care Management • Manages observation status patients to determine appropriateness for discharge or conversion to inpatient admission using approved medical necessity criteria continually throughout the observation stay • Conducts medical necessity reviews on all inpatient admissions, transfers and continued stay patients using approved medical necessity criteria daily • Initiates Condition Code 44 process when applicable • Works with the Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists and physicians to identify opportunities to improve the accuracy of the documentation as well as identify the working MSDRG and associated geometric mean length of stay • Conducts proactive medical necessity review of cases being referred from the Emergency Room, PACU, transfers and direct admissions from physician offices to ensure appropriate status and level of care placement , as assigned • Uses the criteria software application to document results of criteria application according to the documentation policy, i.e. MCG criteria application, length of stay assignments and variance documentation, etc. • Initiates Physician Advisor referrals for any cases not meeting criteria for the level of care • Ensures compliance with all state, federal and payor medical necessity and certification requirements (40%)
Utilization Review for Insurance Companies • Documents clinical information as required for insurance company certification according to required payor timeframe standards • Works collaboratively with the Clerical Support Staff to ensure all insurance reviews are received by the insurance company and a disposition response is received • Documents all insurance certification activities in the assigned locations according to the department documentation standards (40%)
Compliance • Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory requirements as well as the insurance company rules such as Patient Choice, Important Message from Medicare #2, Condition Code 44, insurance certification processes, etc. • Maintains compliance with established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control guidelines • Protects Patient Rights as they pertain to the ethical and legal issues of confidentiality during the case management process (20%)

The Urology Service RN delivers specialized, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing evaluation and treatment for a wide range of urologic conditions, including acute, chronic, oncologic, and surgical cases. Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking part-time Registered Nurses to join our Crisis team. The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a 24-hour, 16-bed facility providing intensive behavioral health crisis intervention for up to five days. Our multidisciplinary team includes Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Therapists, Case Managers, Milieu Counselors, and Peer Support Specialists. The position offers generous shift differentials and benefits, making it an excellent opportunity for dedicated nursing professionals.
The Registered Nurse will deliver exceptional clinical care for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises, with a focus on person-centered, compassionate treatment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and experienced in psychiatric nursing, with excellent de-escalation skills, sound clinical judgment, and an active RN license in good standing, along with current BLS certification.
Schedule. This position is fully onsite/in-person, working two (2) 12-hour shifts per week. Available schedules are:
Day Shift: 6:30am-7pm, varying days, some weekends required
Salary for this role.
The starting wage is based on licensure and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
$36.56 - $44.00 hourly
Shift Differential Pay. The Day weekend shift differential is paid from 7am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays only; the Swing shift differential is paid from 3pm to 11pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11pm to 7am.
Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $2.50/hour
Overnight Weekday (Monday-Thursday): $4.00/hour
Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $5.00/hour
Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $2.75/hour

Bilingual Language Differential Pay.
*Rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency.
Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $$3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE). The bilingual differential will begin once the required proficiency level is met on the agency-approved language assessment.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Nursing required. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Colorado Registered Nurse Licensure Requirement: Must hold an active Colorado RN license (or multi-state compact license from another state) in good standing before providing any client services.
Preferred: one year of relevant clinical experience.
