About this Job: The Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications to patients. The Pharmacy Technician performs designated advanced level technical functions to facilitate pharmacy operations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Consistently fulfills all the responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician I. Under the supervision of the licensed Pharmacist prepares oral topical and specific parenteral medications for dispensing to patients including the selection labeling and packaging of appropriate pharmaceuticals and filling of medication carts. Prepares mini bags large volume parenterals mini bag plus etc. using aseptic techniques including STATS. Delivers and retrieves medications including narcotics and pharmacy supplies to/from patient care and satellite pharmacy areas. Compounds products in bulk or per individual order and prepares private stock orders and individual unit-of-use packaging when not otherwise available. Completes and maintains controlled substance inventory log/records. Participates in orienting new Pharmacy Technicians to department operations and the computer system. Maintains clean and orderly workstations. About this Job: The Pharmacy Technician performs technical duties related to drug distribution and dispensing as a member of the pharmaceutical team to improve the outcome and quality of patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
