The first website of Azerbaijan (1995)
By the 13 June 2000 Decree of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev who always treated the development of the Institute with great care, Azerbaijan State Institute of Languages turned into Azerbaijan University of Languages through the extension of its activities.
As a result of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s care the University was provided with additional building in 2003.
By the Instruction of President Ilham Aliyev in 2005 a new five-storied academic building for 2500 students was built and brought to use.
The fundamental scientific works published by the Institute were highly appreciated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Excellency Ilham Aliyev at the annual meeting of ANAS on 26 April 2011 as a response to his call.

On 17 April 2013, the Corresponding Member of the ANAS Yagub Mahmudov’s book “The Victory March of Heydar Aliyev's ideas”, translated into Ukrainian was presented in Kiev, the capital of the Republic of the Ukraine.
On 16-19 December 2013, the director of the Institute of History Yagub Mahmudov was awarded a diploma and a medal of “Queen Victoria” at the international conference dedicated to “Science and Education.
On February 24, 2014 at A.A.Bakikhanov Institute of History was held scientific session devoted to the 150th anniversary of Ali bey Huseynzadeh.
On May 7, 2014, the special commemorative ceremony was held at the Institute of History in connection with the 91st year of birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
On 24 November 2015 by the Instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Samad Seyidov was released from the position of the Rector of Azerbaijan University of languages.
On October 13, 2016, at Presidential Library was held the presentation of the two-volume edition “History of the Republic of Azerbaijan” consisting of five books published by the Institute of History of the ANAS.
On 1 June 2017 the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Instruction on Academician Kamal Abdullayev’s appointment as the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages.
