Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with employees of varying classifications to ensure the completion of painting assignments for aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles.
Perform touch-up and pickup painting using both spray and brush techniques, adhering to inspection requirements.
Prepare surfaces to ensure proper adhesion, including corrosion removal and paint stripping as needed.
Prepare various paint materials, such as primers, enamels, and lacquers, according to specifications.
Clean and service spray guns, paint tanks, brushes, hoses, and related equipment after use.

Set up all necessary equipment and supplies for painting operations, including fall protection and protective equipment.
Coordinate with safety, environmental, and fire organizations to ensure the shop is prepared for painting operations.

TITLE
Painter I
Performs skilled work in the painting of buildings, fixtures and equipment. Work involves preparation of various types of surfaces for painting and the application of paint by use of spray guns, rollers or brushes. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES -
May include, but not limited to the following:
Prepares surfaces for paint by scraping, sandpapering and cleaning.

Refinishes and restores interior and exterior painted surfaces.
