Berger Engineering company history timeline

1974

In 1974 building began there on a modern plant with its own prefabricating facilities as well as workshops and warehouses.

1975

The two enterprises merged formally on December 29, 1975 and took the name Bilfinger & Berger Bau A.G.

Between that time and the firms' merger in 1975, their combined efforts accounted for a large share of the road, rail, bridge, and dam development in Africa, southwest and southeast Asia, and Central and South America.

The prefabricating plant was also the basis for establishing the bridge construction division in 1975.

1977

Horst H. Berger, with Siegfried K. Wiedmann, received the 1977 IEEE Morris N. Liebmann Memorial Award "For the invention and exploration of the Merged Transistor Logic, MTL."

From 1986, staff from three locations found a new home with optimal conditions for efficient administration in a newly built head office in Passau.

1993

2002
