Job Description
The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro or General Service Tech as we call it, is an entry level Automotive Technician position and a great way to start your career at Monro. Starting day 1 you will begin a comprehensive mechanic training program, covering all aspects of your new role. As a General ServiceTechnician, you will be an essential team member, performing maintenance services on Guest vehicles. More importantly, you will be part of a team working together to deliver 5 Star Guest experiences, while using your technician skills to take care of people, their cars and ensure our guests have safe, reliable transportation.
Pay is based on experience plus, incentives (if applicable)
Responsibilities
Mechanic duties include changing, mounting, and installing tires
Wheel removal, tire repair and balance, tire patch/plug repairs
Quick lube type duties such as lubrication and oil change
Inspect and rotate tires
Basic automotive maintenance work such as battery installation
We will train you to do alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance services
Cross-train to work on the front counter to assist guests with appointments, answer phones, enter estimates and close out guest invoices.
Compensation: The hourly range for this role is $16.00 - $19.00. This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be determined based on experience level.

About The Role:
Compensation is $17-20 Per hour based on experience.
The General ServiceTechnician is a blended role with both front and back shop responsibilities, including at least two days per week dedicated to front counter duties. This position is responsible for performing routine vehicle repairs and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications while effectively communicating vehicle issues and solutions to guests. Additionally, as a key holder and manager on duty (MOD) when needed, the General ServiceTechnician plays a vital role in providing a superior guest experience, driving sales of automotive services and tires, and ensuring a welcoming in-store atmosphere.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs effectively and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
Tire Services - perform wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation and TPMS service and repair.
Vehicle Services - perform lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g.: bulb, wiper blade and filter replacements, etc.), battery testing and installations.
Consistently complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process, on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist in inventory management to include pulling tires and parts, unloading and stocking inventory.
Assist with all general store duties, ensuring the store is in excellent condition and maintained to Monro standards for cleanliness and consistently in guest ready condition.
Consistently perform service(s) in accordance with Monro's safety standards including but not limited to Monro's Wheel Torque, Oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test drive vehicles in accordance with Monro's Road Test policy, including consistently dedicated test drive routes, while observing utilizing our all local traffic and safety laws.
Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, Governmental standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards. Consistent use of all required safety standards set forth in training and policies and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities to ensure proficiency through the timely completion of all required Monro University training courses and modules. Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment in a safe manner in accordance with Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines including but not limited to lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
Under the direction of management, assists in various aspects of guest care, work order completion and register assistance, facility maintenance, and outside purchase ordering.
This position is a secondary key carrier responsible for basic and detailed opening and closing responsibilities.
Able to understand and effectively communicate all products and services Monro offers to guests.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Automotive training including basic car maintenance and repair or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a current valid driver's license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and have the ability to operate customer's vehicles to conduct test drives.
Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro's tool purchase program.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This job operates in an automotive shop environment. The job will have exposure to a moderate noise level, adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. General ServiceTechnicians must be able to complete the following but not limited to:
Ability to work flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

* Service Professional Level (Level II) - this is the sweet spot for anyone who has at least a year of experience in a related field and knowledge of the basic concepts of electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting. Responsibilities
As a Car ServiceTechnician, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks on used vehicles
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed
Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Frequently interacts with customers, service manager and servicetechnicians, and employees from various departments in the dealerships
Request Necessary Parts and Document services performed.

Responsibilities:
Perform work as specified on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy
Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, A/C, and suspension
Use diagnostic tools and follow dealership and manufacturer standards
Communicate with Service Advisors on repairs needed
Perform warranty and recall work to manufacturer standards
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
1-2 years of automotive technician experience required
ASE certifications preferred
Brand certifications (Nissan, Hyundai, Toyota, etc.) highly valued
Maryland State Inspection License a plus
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to diagnose issues and follow repair instructions
Strong communication and team collaboration skills
High school diploma or equivalent

Sign-On Bonus Disclosure:
The $10,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified Master Technicians who meet brand certification requirements and are hired into full-time positions. Bonus is paid in equal monthly installments over 12 months of continuous, active employment. Eligibility is contingent upon verification of certifications and employment status. Terms subject to change at employer's discretion.

Responsibilities:
Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications:
High School diploma
Must have at least 3 years of experience as an auto technician
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
Quick learner
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Team player
Must have a valid driver's license
Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
Ability to identify problems quickly
Knowledge of automobiles
Math, reading, and computer skills
Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
ASE Certifications
