Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Set-Up Operator to set up and operate CNC machines in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Okuma, HAAS, and Fanuc controls, with the ability to write and edit CNC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This individual must be capable of handling multiple set-ups and short-run jobs while maintaining high-quality standards and optimizing machining processes.
Key Responsibilities
Study blueprints, layouts, and technical charts to determine materials, sequences of operations, dimensions, and tooling instructions.
Write, edit, and adjust CNC programs as necessary based on engineering drawings and job requirements.
Select appropriate cutting tools and tooling instructions based on metal properties and machining requirements.
Position, secure, and align cutting tools in tool holders on the machine using hand tools, verifying accuracy with measuring instruments.
Adjust and set cutting speeds, depths, and feed rates to optimize machining efficiency.
Run machines through full cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls as needed to maintain precision.
Observe machine operations, inspect finished parts, and verify conformance with specifications using measuring instruments.
Identify and implement process and procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and quality in a machine shop environment.
Manage and prioritize multiple set-ups and short-run jobs while maintaining production schedules.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all company safety protocols.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
5 to 8 years of experience in a precision machine shop environment.
Ability to set up and operate CNC machines with Okuma, HAAS, and Fanuc controls.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex mechanical drawings and tolerances.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, tooling selection, and machining principles.
Experience in troubleshooting and making adjustments to improve job performance.

The Opportunity
The CNC Machinist will have responsibility for the setup and operation of miscellaneous computerizednumericalcontrol (CNC) and/or manual machines in Mod 7. The Machinist will also ensure that machines are properly tooled and may be required to make recommendations to modify programs as appropriate.
Additionally, the CNC Machinist will:
1. Set-up and operation of miscellaneous CNC and/or manual machines, specifically mill experience.
2. Machine and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
3. Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.
4. Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, material and tooling requirements, to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications.
5. Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
6. Provide input and recommendations for selecting, installing, and adjusting CNC and manual machine cutting tools to ensure they are consistent with type and size of material being machined.
7. Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
8. Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
9. Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation.
10. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.
11. Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
12. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell.
13. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications
High School or GED and a minimum of 2 years of machining experience, specifically mill experience. Reads, understands and correctly interprets blueprints, planning and manufacturing specifications. Demonstrated working knowledge of machining and/or testing related mathematical concepts. Has basic knowledge of inspection requirements and techniques. Rough burrs machined parts. May train, provide guidance and assist in developing lower skill level team members.
* Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
(Note - must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.)
Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.

CNC Set-up Machinist

Job Title: 3-4 Axis CNC Milling Set-up Machinist Duties include but are not limited to the following: Determine appropriate tooling, setup, and fixtures necessary to efficiently run jobs Change/set tools, collets, tool holders, as required by program Identify and correct worn tooling, subpar finishes, excessive burrs
Determine/set all tooling offsets
Produce quality parts within production rates
Adjusts speeds and feeds
Assists others with any issues on CNCs
Trains operators on set-up, operation, and minor repairs
Adheres to ISO9001/AS9100 standards
Review production process for improvements
Troubleshoot and repair machines, when possible
Keep logs of down-time, maintenance performed, and repairs
Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications
Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates
Use various types of equipment and machinery
Maintain machinery during operation/direct scheduled maintenance
Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (calipers/micrometer)
Store or place product in designated areas
Complete all necessary data to ensure production rates are met
Report and/or enter production data into the company ERP system
Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections
Participate in all assigned training, including health and safety sessions
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Previous 3-4 Axis CNC Milling Machine experience; minimum 3 years operator and 1 year ability to perform machine set-up.
Ability to read blueprints
Advanced understanding of G Code programs
Advanced understanding of Geometry
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent problem solving skills
High school graduate or equivalent, technical training on machining preferred
Ability to communicate - verbal and written
Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy
Basic computer skills for data entry purposes.
Experience of ERP system (preferred)
Manufacturing experience (preferred)
Dependable and prompt
Efficient work habits
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. frequently
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally
Continuous standing
Use of hands and feet to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, controls, press buttons, levers and pedals
Bending, twisting and reaching
Occasional repetitive movement
Frequent walking
Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and any other protective equipment deemed necessary.

Leitner-Poma of America, Inc. is seeking a dedicated CNC Machinist I to expertly operate a Toyoda mill with Fanuc controller, producing intricate machined parts while upholding quality and safety standards. This role will set up and maintain precision machine tools, interpret complex engineering drawings, and ensure the accuracy of finished products using advanced measuring instruments. The position will also troubleshoot machine malfunctions and ensure we maintain our commitment to excellence in manufacturing.
This is a full-time, hourly position hiring at $19.00-$24.00 per hour based on relevant experience & certifications.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalent.
At least 1-2 years' machine shop experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Authorized to work in the United States of America.
Proficient in the English language.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience in CNC programming & set-up/associates degree in machine school technologies.
Previous operations & maintenance experience with a Toyoda mill and/or Fanuc controller.

Set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC machines to manufacture precision components (metal + plastic)
Run multi-axis programs for milling, drilling, threading, reaming, and profiling
Interpret blueprints and work instructions with accuracy and attention to detail
