Job Description : Performs a variety of operations to manufacture and fabricate sheet metal and extrusion parts. Sets-up and operates one or more of the following varieties of machine tools: CNC mills, shears, brake press, routers, drill press, saws, roll formers, water jets, shapers, NC punch, stack routers, punch press, hydro press, and hand formers. Displays ability to plan, layout, interpret blueprints, sketches to all engineering specifications; determine sequence of operations, number of required cuts and method of setup. Uses a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Makes standard shop calculations relating to dimensions of work tooling, feeds and speeds. May monitor and verify quality with statistical process or other control procedures.
