Position Responsibilities:
Analyze work in the area, determine priorities, and sequence tasks based on customer requirements.
Develop, update, and implement processes and procedures as required.
Clean, set up, maintain, and perform minor repairs on specialized external tools per Boeing specifications and Hole Set-up Pre-Sheets (HPSS).
Clean and adjust sealing equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Perform visual and functional checks on tools and accessories, inspecting for damage.
Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, bushings, guides, and locators for powered hand tools, and load program information using precision measuring tools.
Investigate and troubleshoot power tool problems to determine causes of malfunctions and recommend improvements.
Receive tools, equipment, and supplies to support the shop, logging in receivables using various computer programs.
Assist production in determining the correct power equipment for jobs and conduct necessary tests.
Manage inventory of tools, shop supplies, and materials, auditing periodically for accuracy.
Arrange for the loan of tools and equipment as required.
Send power tools to the tool repair area for maintenance and repair of internal drive and feed mechanisms.
Use and update various information systems to perform assigned tasks and maintain thorough inventory recording and control systems.
Inspect the contents of toolboxes and issue hold-out notices as required.
Train and assist other employees with functions, methods, and procedures by sharing information and answering questions.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

Major Function:

Job Summary:
The CNC Mill Machinist will operate 2, 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machines and conventional machinery to manufacture complex aerospace components. This role requires expertise in CNC Mill machine operations, setups, adjustments, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
CNC Mill Machinist Functions
Operate multiple CNC Milling and conventional mills and lathes efficiently.
Perform pre-operational inspections to ensure machine readiness.
Interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and dispatch specifications to determine machining dimensions and tolerances.
Execute complex setups, including tool changes, rotating offsets, and adjusting chucking jaws.
Operate forklifts to retrieve and load parts onto racks.
Conduct trial runs to verify machine settings and programmed control accuracy.
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
Set controls for machining factors such as speed, feed rate, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
Monitor machine operations, detecting malfunctions or deviations from tolerances.
Adhere to continuous improvement plans and safety protocols.
Complete and document job orders.
Operate the Gun Drill and other cutting tools for perforation tasks.
Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and production personnel to resolve machining issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Setup experience Required.
Minimum 5 years of CNC Mill machining experience.
At least 3 years of experience with conventional machining preferred.
Proficiency in setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Trade school certification in machining/CNC or equivalent work experience.
Certifications & Licenses:
Forklift and/or Crane Operator certification (preferred, not required).
Skills & Abilities:
Strong ability to set up and operate different types of CNC and manual machines.
Basic computer proficiency.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience with 2 to 5-axis CNC machining preferred.
Strong shop math skills for machine setup and execution.
Understanding of heat treatment processes for machined parts.
Physical Demands
Regularly lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Stand for approximately 85% of the workday.
Frequent walking, reaching, and handling of materials.
Occasional need to balance, stoop, or crawl.
Competencies:

Basic Functions: Fabricate, repair, and layout custom fixtures and gauges for production through precise machining methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to design and construct simple hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
Adjusting tool parts by cutting and grinding materials to make them fit together

Complete a daily time card to accurately reflect the amount of time per job activity.
Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
Ability to read advanced blueprints to create specialized tools and gauges.

Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Using mathematics to solve problems.

Physical ability to do work requiring frequent lifting, twisting, standing, stooping and bending. Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
Working Environment
Usual manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions with equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.
