ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides programming support for machining parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machine tools by writing programs of machine instructions in symbolic language to encode numerical control tape or direct numerical control database to regulate movement of machine along cutting path.
2. Selects proper cutting tools for each part, by taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations to safely and economically produce a part to the manufacturing engineering specification or drawing.
3. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part by computing angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outlining sequence of operations required to machine the part.
4. Determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates by analyzing drawings, sketches, and design data of part.
5. Shows location of reference points and direction of cutting paths by preparing geometric layouts on graph paper or by using computer-assisted drafting/manufacturing software.
6. Modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements and revises programs to eliminate instruction errors or omissions.
7. Observes operation of machine on trial run to prove taped or programmed instructions. Compares encoded tape or computer printout with original program sheet to assure accuracy of machine instructions.
Education and Experience:
Completion of related trade school program, AA, or equivalent external training in NC Programming.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through previous
technical or production experience and at least two years" experience at the NC Programmer level.
Espirit CAM software experience preferred.

* Part Prove-Out: Conduct first-article prove-outs and verification using 5P methodology (Five-Axis Part Programming Verification). Collaborate with operators and quality teams to resolve issues during initial runs.
* Continuous Improvement: Optimize machining processes for cycle time reduction, tool life improvement, and quality enhancement. Stay current with CNC technology, tooling innovations, and programming software updates.

* 5+ years of CNC programming experience in production or precision manufacturing environment.

Salary:
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $25 - $42.00 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting annual salary within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.
Summary:
This role is responsible for creating CAM programs, setting up, operating CNC machines, inspecting machined parts against engineering drawings, and identifying optimal materials and machining strategies to ensure efficient and high-quality production. They will fabricate precision crafted parts in steel, aluminum and plastic used on complex equipment, working from tentative design, rough sketch or verbal instructions.
Essential Functions:
Practice safe work methods and support development of JSA and risk assessments.
Develop and optimize CAM programs for CNC milling operations using CAD/CAM software.
Develop holding fixtures and jigs.
Set up and operate CNC mills, including tooling selection, setup, and machine calibration.
When needed, set up and operate manual lathe, mill and other equipment related to manual machining.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate part production.
Perform in-process and final inspections of machined components using precision measuring tools.
Analyze part geometry and recommend the most suitable materials and machining methods.
Estimate cycle times and contribute to process planning for new and existing parts.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste.
Investigate and recommend corrective action to help resolve problems which may arise.
When necessary, assemble mechanical components into model or prototypes.
Maintain documentation for setups, tooling, and machining processes.
Qualifications
Education:
Associates degree preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.
Experience:
Combination of 10 years in CNC programing and machining (3-axis,multi-axis milling and lathe). Experience in development or technical support of industrial equipment a plus.
Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Solidworks CAM).
Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and cutting tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
HAAS Control
Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Experience in SharePoint, Solidworks and Autodesk CAD a plus

What you'll need:
Minimum 3 years CNC Programmer experience.
Thorough understanding of repair design and development engineering, manufacturing processes, tool design, fabrication methods and processes.
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with setup, operation, and programming machines such as: CNC grinder (OD/ID and Vertical Grind Center), CNC lathe (vertical and horizontal), CNC mill, and CNC boring machine.
Practical experience generating programs with MasterCam and Fusion360 CAM software.
Practical experience programming ISO G code and ability to program macros, predominantly Fanuc control.
Experience with generation and maintenance of 3D models and drawings using Fusion360, Inventor, and other Autodesk CAD software.
Working knowledge of common aviation and aerospace materials.
Ability to read, understand and interpret aviation and aerospace blueprints as well as maintenance, repair, and overhaul manuals.
Ability to generate procedural documentation such as work instructions and setup sheets.
Ability to troubleshoot challenges with manufacturing equipment in a fast paced environment.
Capable of identifying and seeking out required standard materials for procurement and implementation of new and revised setups.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop 2 and 3-axis N/C processes for development hardware (i.e., machining programs,
tooling,) as well as 4 and 5 axis N/C processes.
* Contribute to process improvement efforts on mature hardware with similar support.
* Set up and operation of machine tool equipment (both N/C and standard types to support
development/production cell activities)
* Work to blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce development hardware.
* Perform in-process dimensional checks, including CMM operations/set up.
* Troubleshoot process issues.
* Create development/production planning and support revisions of production planning as
appropriate for process changes.
* Provide direction to other skilled employees involved with development and production.
* Perform other related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college OR associate degree with a minimum
of 2 years in manufacturing experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4
years manufacturing experience; All manufacturing experience must be specifically machining,
assembly, machine repair or inspection.
* NC programming experience (APT, UG, or other structured systems.)
* Proficient in shop mathematic i.e. geometry and trigonometry, blueprint reading, geometric
dimensioning, and tolerances
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
* Apprentice graduate.
* Machining experience, NC and/or manual
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Manufacturing experience
* Experience in tooling and fixturing, STAS, tooling vendors, Maximo generation.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction - self-starter.
* Ability to interface with various levels of management (i.e., Design Engineering and Project)
and shop floor workforce.
* Ability to maintain relationships that facilitate task accomplishment; to cooperate and resolve
conflicts; to recognize needs and be sensitive of others.
* Ability to receive guidance and supervision; follow work rules, safety practices, work
procedures; meet deadlines; punctuality and attendance standards, etc.
The base pay range for this position is 1597.02/Weekly. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors,
including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a
percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is

Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We manufacture turbine blades and vanes for many of the largest gas turbine manufacturers and militaries around the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding.
The Toolmaker has critical areas of responsibility for fabricating, repairing, and laying out custom fixtures and gauges for operations through precise machining methods. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, committed to safety for self and the team, hungry to learn and make improvement, a high standard for quality and process compliance, and a team player.
Basic Functions: Fabricate, repair, and layout custom fixtures and gauges for production through precise machining methods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to design and construct simple hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
Adjusting tool parts by cutting and grinding materials to make them fit together
Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Complete a daily time card to accurately reflect the amount of time per job activity.
Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.
Fits and assembles parts and verifies dimensions and alignment using measuring equipment.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair tooling, and gauges.
Layout gauges and fixtures to verify design and prove capability.
Read blueprints, design, maintain, and build gauges, tools, other equipment.

Sharing updates with other designers or product managers to track progress and verify requirements

Qualifications
Required Skills:
Ability to read advanced blueprints to create specialized tools and gauges.
Have an attention to Detail.
Strong mechanical Skills and the ability to use a number of hand tools and large scale machines to finish their products.
Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Using mathematics to solve problems.
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
The ability to listen to and communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Experience and Education:
2 year technical college or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 yrs. Tool making experience.

Physical Demands
Talking, hearing and using hands to operate machining equipment. Ability to load parts onto a workbench at or above waist height. Must be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs frequently. Ability to use a computer is preferred. Must be able to work on your feet in a manufacturing environment. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent lifting, twisting, standing, stooping and bending. Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
Working Environment
Usual manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions with equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.
