PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manage and deliver 21st Century Learning Center youth development programming provided in the Academic Success Initiative of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay.
KEY ROLES:
Oversees the successful operations of 21st Century Learning Center services, specifically focused on academic enrichment and remedial education.
Plans and implements education programs, activities and services that meet Sunshine State Standards. Develops programs that are gender inclusive and sensitive to cultural diversity.
Monitors tutoring sessions to ensure all students are in accordance with what is stated on their Student Learning Plan (SLP). Ensure activities are in compliance with all 21st Century Learning Center policies and procedures.
Communicates and enforces organizational policies, procedures and standards with regard to program delivery, quality and fidelity. Provides administrative and logistical support for educational programs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform diagnostic evaluation of participating youth.
Complete Student Learning Plans and communicate with schools regarding performance.
May be assigned other duties as requested by supervisor.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club Staff (professional, part-time and volunteers), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and/or advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in developing positive relationships and resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
BA/BS Degree from an accredited, four-year university or college in a field related to education. State of Florida Teachers Certificate required.
3-5 years of teaching experience.
Demonstrated experience and ability to work collaboratively with partners and schools.
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay; and the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
TRAVEL:
Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas County for supervisory, training and/or other business purposes.

Purpose & Impact:

Essential Functions:
Plans, develops and implements daily lesson plans that provide for educational and enrichment activities for pre-school age children or infants and toddlers.

Screens and assesses children to determine developmental/educational needs and develops and implements individual education plans.
Monitors meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities to ensure a safe environment for young children.
Monitors food service and supplies for adequate inventory.
Documents children's progress or lack of and completes all required manual and computerized forms and reports.
Initiates referrals on children to the Center Director by submission of a variety of formal documents.
Plans classroom activities for parent and community volunteers.
Communicates with parents through parent conferences, written correspondence, and telephone to apprise them of child's progress, upcoming events, classroom activities, individual education plan changes, and other relevant information.
Conducts health checks on children for health concerns, including ringworm, head lice and other health conditions, and reports to appropriate Health Coordinator.
Ensures lessons and classroom activities align with the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Standards.
Conducts Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten assessments as required.
Ensures that at least 80% of the children are kindergarten ready.
Performs quality staff-child interactions.
Uses active supervision techniques and maintains positive classroom behavior.
Maintain a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child, including weekly observations in each area, examples of the child's work, and a developmental assessment.
Uses home visits and parent conferences to discuss the child's individual development and progress, assist the parents in developing observational skills and solicit parent observations.
Plans, coordinates and oversees field trips for assigned children.
Orders supplies and equipment to be used by special needs children in the classroom.
Assists in the transportation of special needs children by lifting child into seat and fastening safety belt.
Inspects classrooms and grounds to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities.
Reviews and forwards accident and incident reports.
Discusses plans and coordinates concerns regarding the child and family with other Head Start/Early Head Start staff.
Performs First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.

Coursework: No less than 18 semester credits in courses that focus specifically on child development, early childhood education and curriculum, early childhood teaching and assessment, psychology, family development, health and physical development, mathematics, science and children's literature. These courses may have been taken in various departments such as Education, Health and Nutrition/Physical Development, Home Economics, Music, Art, Library Sciences, Physical Education and Recreation, Psychology, Family Studies, and others, and must specifically address young children.
Completion of State Childcare Training required including Certificate of Completion of an approved 10 hour Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Preschoolers and proof of successful completion of the 45 hours of Florida Child Care Facility Training within 12 months** of hire date. In addition, all state mandated courses for the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) required.
**Timeline of completion of the 45 hours is dependent on the candidate's date of entering childcare industry; must enroll within 90 days to take coursework and complete within 12 months to not exceed 15 months.
Experience:
Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school or kindergarten age children.
Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area.
Also required: Certification in First Aid and CPR within 90 days from the date of hire and successful completion of a Level II background screening, health, TB and drug screening prior to hiring.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide tutoring, academic enrichment, and remedial education services to targeted Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay members.
The Teacher is a key member of Club programs that will provide tutoring & literacy instruction, focusing on the Club members who need educational support the most. The individual will be responsible for working closely with the Literacy Director and Coordinator while implementing the established literacy program at his/her designated Boys & Girls Club location. The Teacher will use a combination of hands-on games & activities in all content areas, as well as an established technology-based reading program for small group and/or individual interventions.
The Teacher should be familiar with reading research, standards, assessments, & evidence-based strategies to identify gaps, support growth, and plan for individual and small group instruction using data provided from the established program.
This position is after school, part time, for up to 15 hours a week.
Training in Social/Emotional Learning and/or Trauma Informed Care is a plus.
KEY ROLES:
• Create a child centered literacy environment.
• Develop and maintain rapport with all stakeholders including students, families, and club staff.

Responsibilities:
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and encourages student engagement.

Attend all parent-teacher conferences, back-to-school nights, faculty meetings, and substitute in one class per week as needed.
Supervise lunch and recess.
Support the team with carpool and dismissal procedures.
Stay up-to-date on current educational trends and research to continually improve teaching practices.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a lower school setting.
Valid teaching certification preferred.

Programming
Facilitate parent-child interactive activities. There are 3 core programs:

Candidates must possess music background to teach Gymboree Music classes.

Responsibilities
Provide and/or coordinate all academic instruction as directed by the Course Director, Course Manager, and course syllabus, including, but not limited to lectures, practical exercises, small group events and guided discussions.
Course Instruction (depends on assignment and needs of the 705 TRS):
Instruct ACSLC. ACSLC provides training and education to O-6, select O-5, and E-9s assigned to, or projected for, air component senior leadership positions. This course includes air component headquarters responsibilities regarding capabilities covered under integrated joint special technical operations (IJSTO) and special access programs (SAP).
Instruct CSSC. CSSC provides in-depth AOC and process training to DOD and international O-6s and select O-5s to perform their designated and/or anticipated leadership duties within the Air Operations Center (AOC).
Instruct C2WAC. C2WAC is an advanced air operations training and education course which provides training to select joint and allied O-3 through O-5 and E-5 through E-8 personnel assigned to, or projected for, AFCHQ planner and small group leadership positions. This course includes air component headquarters integration of IJSTO/SAP capabilities.
Instruct IALC. IALC provides training to AFCHQ Commander, Air Force Forces (COMAFFOR) staff personnel conducting and supporting operational-level planning and execution. The course educates and develops the intermediate level knowledge and skills necessary for branch chiefs and branch non-commissioned officers in charge (NCOICs) to lead USAF Service Component employment planning teams within air component headquarters in support of Combined/Joint Force Commander (C/JFC) objectives.
Instruct CFACC. Combined Force Air Component Commander's (CFACC) Course is designed to prepare potential CFACCs for theater-level air component leadership. Select portions of this course are supported by the 505 TTG.
Instruct DWC2C. DWC2C provides training to USAF-identified Wing entities which will lead (or support with specific functional capabilities) employment of the Agile Combat employment (ACE) concepts.
Instruct DIRMOBFOR. DIRMOBFOR course prepares selected total-force senior officers to manage, monitor, and coordinate air mobility forces that deploy in support of an exercise, contingency, war, natural disaster, or humanitarian relief operations.
Instruct SJAT. SJAT consists of tailored academics, discussions, and presentations for General Officers (O-7 through O-10) to prepare them for air component warfighting duties. SJAT classification varies per session.
Prepare classrooms for instruction
Operate academic equipment (i.e., projectors, televisions, computer learning stations, etc.)
Issue required student courseware (Student Guides, handouts, approved changes, etc) required for course attendance to include maintaining student folders as required
Ensure course materials are current prior to each instruction event
Develop, review, and respond to end-of-phase and end-of-course critiques of academic instruction. Coordinate all critiques IAW the governing syllabus. Coordinate all student comments and courseware corrections, to include errata sheets, with the Government prior to use in the classroom. Provide completed critiques/student's comments to the course manager for review.
Develop and execute a comprehensive graduate evaluation plan used to determine academic instruction effectiveness, based on students feedback gained during practical field Falconer experience.
Assist with maintaining continuity folders, reference material, audiovisual library, films, tapes and lesson courseware.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited University or College
Possess a minimum of 10 years of DOD military experience with specific air component experience
Current Top Secret/SCI clearance eligibility.
20+ years of military operational experience as a rated officer, intelligence community professional, cyberspace officer, Special Operations Force officer, or space operations officer
Minimum of five years as a senior officer (GS-14/15, Colonel, Brigadier General)
Career assignments must include Air Component Headquarters assignment as a field grade officer; staff assignment in a leadership role (Branch, Division, Directorate) for a Major Command or Joint Force Command or Service Headquarters / Joint Staff.

Additionally, the 705 TRS currently supports select portions of Air University's (AU's) Combined Force Air Component Commander (CFACC) Course, Air Mobility Command's (AMC's) Director of Mobility Forces (DIRMOBFOR) Course, and other Air Combat Command (ACC) and 505 CCW C2 operational-level and wing-level training events/courses. B3H provides the full spectrum of strategic planning, program management, acquisitions management, systems engineering & integration, cost analysis, training, systems requirements analysis, and instructional system design for the DoD. Responsibilities * Provide and/or coordinate all academic instruction as directed by the Course Director, Course Manager, and course syllabus, including, but not limited to lectures, practical exercises, small group events and guided discussions. * Course Instruction (depends on assignment and needs of the 705 TRS): * Instruct ACSLC. ACSLC provides training and education to O-6, select O-5, and E-9s assigned to, or projected for, air component senior leadership positions. This course includes air component headquarters responsibilities regarding capabilities covered under integrated joint special technical operations (IJSTO) and special access programs (SAP). * Instruct CSSC. CSSC provides in-depth AOC and process training to DOD and international O-6s and select O-5s to perform their designated and/or anticipated leadership duties within the Air Operations Center (AOC). * Instruct C2WAC. C2WAC is an advanced air operations training and education course which provides training to select joint and allied O-3 through O-5 and E-5 through E-8 personnel assigned to, or projected for, AFCHQ planner and small group leadership positions. This course includes air component headquarters integration of IJSTO/SAP capabilities. * Instruct IALC. IALC provides training to AFCHQ Commander, Air Force Forces (COMAFFOR) staff personnel conducting and supporting operational-level planning and execution. The course educates and develops the intermediate level knowledge and skills necessary for branch chiefs and branch non-commissioned officers in charge (NCOICs) to lead USAF Service Component employment planning teams within air component headquarters in support of Combined/Joint Force Commander (C/JFC) objectives. * Instruct CFACC. Combined Force Air Component Commander's (CFACC) Course is designed to prepare potential CFACCs for theater-level air component leadership. Select portions of this course are supported by the 505 TTG. * Instruct DWC2C. DWC2C provides training to USAF-identified Wing entities which will lead (or support with specific functional capabilities) employment of the Agile Combat employment (ACE) concepts. * Instruct DIRMOBFOR. DIRMOBFOR course prepares selected total-force senior officers to manage, monitor, and coordinate air mobility forces that deploy in support of an exercise, contingency, war, natural disaster, or humanitarian relief operations. * Instruct SJAT. SJAT consists of tailored academics, discussions, and presentations for General Officers (O-7 through O-10) to prepare them for air component warfighting duties. SJAT classification varies per session. * Prepare classrooms for instruction * Operate academic equipment (i.e., projectors, televisions, computer learning stations, etc.) * Issue required student courseware (Student Guides, handouts, approved changes, etc) required for course attendance to include maintaining student folders as required * Ensure course materials are current prior to each instruction event * Develop, review, and respond to end-of-phase and end-of-course critiques of academic instruction. Coordinate all critiques IAW the governing syllabus. Coordinate all student comments and courseware corrections, to include errata sheets, with the Government prior to use in the classroom. Provide completed critiques/student's comments to the course manager for review. * Develop and execute a comprehensive graduate evaluation plan used to determine academic instruction effectiveness, based on students feedback gained during practical field Falconer experience. * Assist with maintaining continuity folders, reference material, audiovisual library, films, tapes and lesson courseware. Qualifications Required: *

Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teachers to deliver approved substance use prevention curricula to schools and other agencies. This includes group or individual classroom facilitation, assembly facilitation, observations, monitoring, and direct implementation, including preparation and delivery of materials.
Participate in community coalition meetings and task force committees.
Recruit and secure school and community implementation locations.
Secure training sites for approved programs.
Market and promote programs to schools in the community.
Provide education on alcohol and other drugs to parents and to faculty or agency staff.
Provide community resources (i.e., substance abuse information) to schools and partners.
Complete monitoring reports (i.e., DCF) as grant requirements indicate.
Complete all documentation and Salesforce/CPG data entries daily and submit them within the required time frame.
Assist the Prevention Coordinator and the Regional Prevention Coordinator on special projects.
Maintain knowledge of prevention disciplines, trends, and best practices.
Demonstrate success through documentation of satisfaction surveys, training evaluations, and observations.
Requirements:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human services, education, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
A minimum of 1 year working with adolescents, preferably in a school or public health setting.
Certified Prevention Professional (CPP) preferred or Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to effectively communicate information to adolescents on topics such as substance use risks and consequences, healthy decision-making, coping skills, peer pressure resistance, and other relevant areas.
Strong presentation and group facilitation skills.
