The ED Technician is responsible for performing direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse. The Chemo Pharmacy Technician will compound IVs, answer phone calls, maintain inventory, and complete all requirements for USP 797 and USP 800. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Compounds IVs accurately. Performs all safety checks (Appropriate labeling, visually inspect) when compounding IVs. Re-stocks IV Room carts appropriately. Maintains IV room in a clean, organized manner and ensures supplies are restocked and ordered as needed. Fills automated dispensing cabinets correctly by performing all safety checks (barcode scans and visual inspection) during restock process, clears return bins on a daily basis, and fills out restock reports with 99.8% accuracy. Follows and documents all cleaning procedures for the Ante and Clean Rooms on a daily basis. Completes the monthly clean before the last day of each month. Maintains inventory by placing daily orders, checking in the orders and managing the invoices. Reviews invoices for any back-ordered medications or supplies and assists the pharmacist in managing the back-order list. Completes all annual mandatory education required by facility. Advanced level knowledge in LAN protocol management to include address management and network protocols Experience with one or more of the following models is desired: Aruba/Cisco routers, switches and WLAN technologies Firewalls, IPS and similar technologies SD Wan technologies F5 hardware/software technologies Wan Optimizers (Silverpeak) Cisco/Avaya Voice over IP Networks (VOIP) Knowledge of local and wide area networking on multiple platforms: Windows, Linux and VMware; network protocols and routing; network, server, and host operating systems; IP networking, internet and intranet technologies; email, groupware, office automation and collaboration technologies; voice and/or data communications; voice and/or data networking; Windows desktop OS; server hardware, software, and administration. A total of eight (8) years of experience in large corporate systems environment with a wide variety of Information Management systems, networks and technologies required. Minimum of (5) years of experience in network engineering, design, implementation and support of large scale LAN, WLAN and WANs. Prior experience in a health care systems environment is a plus.
