    Our Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This includes standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with various project duties, and other duties as assigned. Please see below for information on each market: Global Facilities The Global Facilities group is responsible for the planning and design of manufacturing facilities, administrative buildings, district energy systems, data centers, and mission-critical facilities. They work in a variety of industries including food and beverage, consumer products, healthcare, commercial, life sciences, pharmaceutical, and aerospace manufacturing industries. **Qualifications** + Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program is required. + Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department. + Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred. + Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred. + Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong problem solving and analytical skills. + Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. + Demonstrated leadership skills. + Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field. + Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status. **Benefits** Interns may participate in our 401(k) retirement program provided plan eligibility requirements are met.     Job Description About The Role The Architect Designer is responsible for the creation of architectural floor plans and elevation plans. This position will exercise discretion and independent judgment in the intellectual field of architecture. The Architect Designer I will also analyze these plans for functionality, accuracy, cost and efficiency to ensure compliance with design criteria. The creation of architectural floor plans and elevation plans requires advanced knowledge and constant evaluation. What You'll Do Create, develop and design all Perry Homes products. Develop and create preliminary floor plans and elevation designs. Thoroughly analyze preliminary designs for cost compliance, value engineering, and overall design efficiency and make recommendations to management based on review; Coordinate design implementation and accuracy by working with CAD producers. Work with Production Manager to oversee flow of plans through department. Obtain continuing education program hours approved by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners to maintain license. Field reviews of Perry Homes products as well as competition. Remain up-to-date on market demands for plans and customer requests for all major Texas metropolitan areas. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required. Requires minimum 3 years of experience in design with an emphasis in high-end residential design. Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD and of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Attention to detail, creativity/innovation, and organizational skills. Must be a Licensed Architect in Texas.
