Key Responsibilities: Reports directly to Plant Manager. Manage all areas of the Packaging Department which include the following.
Continuous Improvement initiatives which include Capital Projects
PM planning and measurements
E-time coordination (HR Support)
Coordinate the movement of raw materials and finished product
Labor planning, coordination and monitoring
General Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Prepare weekly schedule and job assignments.
Distribute copies of schedule to all Departments.
Weekly copies of Manpower to the Plant Manager.
Plan and set up coverage for the upcoming weekend, this should be done prior to Friday.
Post and keep current employee qualification list.
Submit W/O as required for Safety, equipment repairs and process upgrade.
Report losses in Filling/Packaging Departments.
Maintain responsibility in all company guidelines, enforcing all Plant rules, Food Safety and GMP's.
Comply with weekly Safety measurement requirements and Safety meetings.
Prepare for emergencies; know employees rally point, types of alarms, and phone numbers for contacts.
Ensure that food quality and food safety are the highest priority in the NCD facility. Demonstrated by, active participation from employees at all levels, including personal involvement in the auditing of procedures and processes.
*In the absence of the Production Supervisor the Sanitation Manager will assume his/her duties.
Daily Requirements:
Pre-shift meeting to review prior shift results, issues and opportunities to advance incoming shift.
Prepare job assignments, revise manpower where needed, accounting for priorities based on directions from meeting.
Review emails, holds and pertinent actions requiring attention.
Conduct crew meeting, reviewing production details from the previous day, shift and give Safety toolbox topic.
Review CIP needs for all lines.
Review available product against production needs.
Hourly Rounds:
Verify that product labels, codes, and weights are all correct.
Verify Filler SOP's are being adhered to.
Ensure that run time information is accurate.
Utilize all available personnel to relieve breaks/lunch.
End of Shift:
Review production needs for incoming shift with Production Supervisor and Processing Supervisor.
Check shift crewing, accounting for Tardy/Absence (Call offs).
Cover overtime as needed.
Review with staff the most current line details and plans for the following shifts
Complete and send out shift report.
Turn in paperwork for OEE accounting.
Pay: $64,800-$87,500/Year

Provide work direction and supervision to production employees within the guidelines of standard work rules, union contract provisions (if applicable), and employment policies. Monitor all stages of the production process and ensure accurate processing of product and/or fulfillment of customer orders through appropriate production scheduling. Hold self and others accountable for promoting safety rules and regulations and act in accordance with the requirements for food safety and quality. Ensure that the production process flows smoothly, and daily production goals are met. Function as a resource and point of escalation to direct reports. Coach, mentor, and provide performance development opportunities to team members on an ongoing basis.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Schedule, assign work, and provide clear direction to production employees. Ensure that the production process flows smoothly, and daily production goals are met
· Monitor operations activities (milk receiving, standardizing, pasteurization, separating, freezing, cooling, filling, mixing, packaging, storing, etc.) to ensure that plant production and quality standards are met
· Monitor the equipment used in production processes to ensure that equipment is functioning efficiently and is properly cleaned and sanitized. Arrange for timely repair/resolution of equipment failures
· Actively promote safe work behaviors and hold self and direct reports accountable for following safety rules and regulations. Conduct accident/injury investigations and send reports of injury to HR in a timely manner to meet rapid reporting standards. May coordinate and/or facilitate plant safety meetings and training
· Understand and fulfill the requirements and regulations for food safety and quality. Administer policies, procedures and programs related to operations
· Supervise production scheduling so appropriate quantities and varieties of product are produced to fill orders, meet demand, meet productivity goals, etc. Ensure materials (e.g., ingredients, packaging) are appropriately staged for next production runs
· Proactively look for ways to increase operational efficiency and contain costs
· Work effectively with employees to promote positive and productive working relationships. Effectively apply work rules, union contract provisions (if applicable), and employment policies. Administer discipline consistently and fairly. Work with Human Resources and plant management to resolve employee grievances
· Actively communicate with employees through shift meetings and informal methods
· Complete supervisory activities such as administering employee promotions and transfers; reviewing and editing employee timekeeping; completing performance evaluations; mentoring, training, and coaching employees
· Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all company, state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
· Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all company regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Job Description:
As a produce department coordinator, you will work with a team across all areas of the department to deliver incredible customer service and stock fresh, high quality items for our customers. You will assist with the coordination of daily tasks to ensure produce items are stocked, displayed creatively and readily available for our customers.
What will I do?
Assist in coordinating the activities of team members, ensure tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently, and department runs smoothly, educate team members on products and processes in the department, understand how to look up and track financial measures
Proactively approach and engage with customers like friends to provide incredible service, build meaningful relationships, suggest the perfect products, help locate items, efficiently and accurately fulfill orders
Expand personal knowledge of relevant products, share passion and knowledge about unique, new, and seasonal offerings, and understand how trends, seasons and holidays affect department financials
Understand how products look/smell at peak of perfection, ensure use of production guides, job aids, core recipes, and techniques to provide a consistent and quality outcome
Assist in ordering and inventory processes, utilizing order guides to help control inventory and shrink
Maintain department appearance by unloading deliveries, stocking product, displaying proper signage, ensuring displays are well-merchandised, rotating for freshness, checking for and shrinking outdated product
Ensure team members properly use equipment and handle products, keep accurate logs, follow department job aids and food safety, human safety and 5S guidelines, and comply with Wegmans Policies and federal and state laws
Required Qualifications
Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
