DSH-Napa has an immediate need for a permanent full-time Senior Psychiatrist (Supervisor). Senior Psychiatrist (Supervisor) duties include, but are not limited to, direct supervision of Psychiatrists providing care to patients. They conduct annual appraisals and reviews of probationary and privileged psychiatrists. The Senior Psychiatrist mentors Staff Psychiatrists and reviews clinical records monitoring compliance with documentation standards and psychopharmacological practice. The Senior Psychiatrist participates in Hospital committees as determined by the Chief of Psychiatry. The Senior Psychiatrist reports to the Chief of Psychiatry. They ensure psychiatrists demonstrate clinical competence consistent with standards set forth by the Joint Commission and State Licensing.
This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for Range U $30,724.00, Range V $31,458.00.

this position is mainly remote. On site occasionally/as needed. Employee will need proximity to San Mateo for lectures, which will be a combination of both in person and remote.

DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.
The ACGME-accredited Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship based at Coalinga State Hospital and San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is seeking a full-time Program Director.
The fellowship strives for excellence in the provision of care to court-involved adults and youth with mental health issues, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders.
The Program Director will work with DSH forensic psychiatrists and administration to finalize curriculum in preparation to begin training their first class of fellows on July 1, 2026.
The Program Director will work remotely except for when conducting weekly didactics in San Mateo County and occasional visits to Coalinga State Hospital.
Applicants must be boarded in both general and forensic psychiatry.
Prior experience in teaching residents/fellows and/or academic program administration is preferred but is not required.

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Manager II (Legal Support Operations (LSO) Manager - Southern CA), the San Diego Supervisor II (Office Manager) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the San Diego law office. This position plans and directs the work of approximately 3 direct reports and indirectly approximately 70 supervisorial, legal secretarial, administrative, analytical, and business services staff to support approximately 240 legal office staff including attorneys, paralegals, and executive staff in the San Diego legal office.
The Office Manager serves as a representative from LSO when interacting with each of the legal divisions, the Executive Office, the General Counsel's Office, and the Solicitor General's Office on issues involving legal support and supervisory staff. Through subordinate legal supervisors, the Office Manager oversees all activities related to personnel, management, business services and operations, including docketing and records management. Additionally, the Office Manager directs and reviews all personnel-related activities of the supervisory staff in key positions including recruiting, interviewing and hiring subordinate supervisors and support staff in key positions, as well as oversight and review of all performance reviews and probationary reports.
As one of four Office Managers statewide, the San Diego Office Manager is responsible for ensuring operational consistency at the local level, in compliance and under the guidance of the statewide LSO program's mandates. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, ability to promote and provide adequate employee training and staff development within the San Diego office, enforce policies and procedures, and be able to work out complex scheduling and work assignments for staff.

The Centralized Allegation Resolution Unit (CARU) reviews all allegations of staff misconduct investigated by the Allegation Investigation Unit (AIU) to make determinations on whether corrective action or disciplinary action is imposed when warranted. The CARU handles all assigned cases identified as staff misconduct by the Centralized Screening Team and subsequently investigated by AIU.
The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies.
