Serves as a co-owner on many cases and provides consultation to attorneys, staff and management in the Settlement Bureau involving advanced accounting-related issues relating to the most complex personal income tax and pass-through entity settlement cases. This includes, but is not limited to, calculating and/or confirming complex amounts in controversy, computing tax valuation of various issues, determining the cash flow impact and advising on complex audit-related matters. This typically involves preparing clear and detailed schedules and memos relating to taxpayers with complex accounts over multiple tax years. This position provides assistance with all aspects of calculations related to the assigned case, from case assignment through closeout. A position within the Settlement Bureau exists for personal income tax/pass-through entity areas of expertise.

Working Conditions
* This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.

The Business Entities Section (BES) is looking for enthusiastic and talented individuals to join the Processing Support Team. Under the general direction of a Tax Program Supervisor, the Tax Program Technician II provides the highest degree of technical support for the complex account resolution and specialized transactions related to Payment and Return Validation for Corporations, Limited Liability Company's (LLC), Partnerships and Exempt Organizations, including Amended and Combined Returns. Other duties include, but are not limited to, reviewing and validating Business Entity returns and payments. Also, providing technical input for team member development and in support of BES validation processes and procedures. The incumbent may also work with other business areas within Franchise Tax Board and represent the section on various teams and committees.

Working Conditions

Under the general supervision of the Supervising Program Technician II and in close collaboration with Contract and Procurement staff, the Program Technician II (PT II) is part of a team of specialists responsible for all case service goods procurement functions in the District. The Program Technician II (PT II) in the Birth and Marriage Registration Team (BMRT) reviews and processes all birth, marriage, and/or dissolution records in the state. The PT II provides customer service by phone and/or email to EBRS users, county offices, and the public. Working Conditions
The incumbent works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control.
