Callas Contractors company history timeline

1970

In July, a 1970 chassis was purchased for a new tanker.

The members felt they wanted to have an incorporation of the fire company before the end of 1970 so they could solicit funds for the year.

1971

The Long Meadow Volunteer Fire Company has been serving the Paramount community and providing mutual aid to surrounding area fire companies since 1971.

1979

In April, the company received a Jeep from Civil Defense which was placed in service in March of 1979 as a brush truck.

1980

In early 1980, as the business continued to grow, John bought a building to house his manufacturing facility at 649 Lincoln Way West Chambersburg and moved Marblux Company once again.

1986

In 1986, John's son, Joel E. Sollenberger joined his father in the manufacturing business.

1989

Upon his father's passing in 1989, Joel continued manufacturing the cultured marble vanities and shower panels for several years.

1992

Bruno was in service at Longmeadow until 1992.

2006

In 2006, Joel's son J. Scott Sollenberger joined him in the family company and they formed Sollenberger Construction, LLC. While bathroom remodeling is the duo's favorite, they have expanded their business into all areas of construction.

2008

Acquired a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer to become Rescue Support 27-7.

2015

Due to the AFG grant awarded in 2015 and the receipt of the new turnout gear this year, our station was able to make a donation of 25-30 sets of our old turnout gear to aid this station in replenishing some of their losses.

2018

On June 22nd, dispatched to 19800 block of Spring Creek Road for a house fire. It was acquired on Black Friday, November 24th, passed inspections on Monday, November 27th, and remained in use serving the community through end of March 2018.
