Responsible for accurately documenting inquiries from patient and providers for screening, scheduling and directing patients to appropriate providers, services or level of care. Provides information to patients to fully utilize and benefit from all of Carle services. Facilitates communication between self, providers, and patients to ensure that needs of patient are met.

Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for answering, scheduling, documentation and follow-up on all inquiries from patients and providers generated by telephone, internet based, or written/electronic correspondence. Educates patients and providers regarding a variety of patient care issues, including, but not limited to insurance, provider, department/location, payment options and availability of Carle services. Obtains, updates and verifies patient demographics, insurance and co-pays and Primary Physicians. Answers telephone, takes and delivers messages to physicians, nurses and others. Reports medical information obtained from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and in a timely manner. Distributes all messages according to practice communication standards.

Responsible for the daily supervision of the Emergency Department (ED) and Hospital Registration (HRC) staff and functions. Assists management with changing registration processes to improve patient intake and access so that customer service is enhanced. Prepares staff schedule based on budget parameters and ensures adequate coverage for shifts. Establishes registration error standards and audits registration data. Provides continuous feedback to ED and HRC registration staff to reduce error and enhance workflow processes. Participates and coordinates staff training needs, including new employee job training. Responsibilities
Resolves Customer concerns, questions, and complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action. Reports situation and resolution to supervisor.
Assists with maintaining budget parameters while meeting department needs. Provides input to management regarding budget needs.
Develops and maintains the Hospital and Emergency Room registration schedule according to department standards. Works with Scheduling Committee to ensure schedule completeness and accuracy. Posts schedule 2 weeks in advance for staff notification and preparation.Reviews the schedule on a daily basis and works to fill open shifts/call-ins.
Ensures Virtual Admission registrations are completed according to department standards. Documents activity related to Virtual Registrations. Follows up on discrepancies.
Ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks.
Establishes and maintains effective 'shift reporting' to ensure work continuity and completeness. Reviews reports for completeness and areas of follow up. Works with management to resolve staff issues.
Establishes daily work and desk assignments to ensure adequate staffing coverage and good customer service.
Establishes standards for reducing registration errors. Reviews with staff on a regular basis registration errors and initiates necessary training to reduce errors.
Provides daily supervision to Hospital and Emergency Room registration staff to ensure daily operations are effective.
Recommend various personnel actions including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, and promotions. Ensures direct reports are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks.
Responsible for department payroll records and activities. Submits payroll information according to organizational processes/standards.
Assist staff in dealing with customer service issues, provide mentoring as needed to staff and invene as needed with customers.
Supervises and assists staff with their job duties and responsibilities to ensure patient satisfaction and company profitability.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $26.55per hour - $44.34per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health.
