Protective Security Officer to provide armed workforce security and safety by responding to and resolving issues pertaining to access control, accident and emergency response, medical response, workplace violence, active shooter events and other security issues. Under direct supervision, uses established procedures and guidelines to perform routine to moderately complex tasks and problem resolution. Performs all duties in alignment with USAA's Security Officer Standards.
We offer a work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 5 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following location: Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Understands and applies policies and procedures displaying basic knowledge on operational matters.
Responds to critical incidents and takes direction on immediate actions to stop acts of violence, render first aid, and resolve issues during the response phase of Incident Management.
Participates in training drills, receives feedback on response, and participates in after action reviews for emergency response situations.
Monitors alarms, cameras, fire alarm systems, and access control programs along with radio traffic, dispatching officers, coordinating response actions for critical incidents and documenting activities for escalation to incident reports.
Controls access for employees and visitors, creates and issues credentials, and responds to policy violations.
Performs patrols of facilities/properties to prevent trespassing, theft, vandalism, parking/traffic infractions and unauthorized conduct impacting the safety of the campus.
Enforces parking and traffic controls and composes incident reports.
Completes duty assignments and on-the-job duty position training.
Conducts post-related activities during special events and supports executive protection or law enforcement during incident response.
Documents shift activities, and ensures detailed information is passed on to team members.
Attends and completes all training sessions and responds to feedback from security management and the training team.
Completes Defensive Tactics and Handgun training and Standards Evaluation, complies with USAA Force Continuum, issue/turn-in, storage/transportation procedures and maintains State handgun licensing.
Maintains current first aid training.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
High School Diploma, General Equivalency Diploma, or applicable trade/technical school diploma.
1 or more years of physical security, law enforcement, or military combat arms experience.
Ability to operate computer programs for access control, camera systems, alarm annunciation, radio dispatch and general use of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must possess valid state driver's license.
Job Offer contingent on passing the MMPI evaluation.
Initial and continued employment conditional upon passing USAA's Protective Security training standards within 3 attempts (for initial and follow-on training cycles) and obtaining required state armed security license and/or certification for assigned post state within 6 months.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $ 43,680.00 - $65,750.00.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. About the Role
As a Support III in Global Security, you serve as a frontline protector of people, property, and brand reputation. Education & Qualifications:
* Must be at least 18 years old

* Must have a current valid Driver's License
* Recent security supervision experience highly preferred, with a background in the disciplines of: building or property security, loss prevention, asset protection, TSA/airport security, dispatch, law enforcement or corrections, or service in the military
* Texas state-issued, non-commissioned (Level Two) security license required
* Unlicensed applicants must apply for a security license from Texas DPS within 14 days from date of hire
* Applicants are required to submit a criminal background check upon job offer
* Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
* Possess computer skills adequate enough to use, diagnose, troubleshoot (basic), and administer various technologies used by department
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
* FT-Lead Officers must be flexible to work any shifts within or outside their assigned 8-hour segments of the 24-hour day (days, evenings, or overnights); including all weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
* Position requires the ability to stand and walk throughout shift
* Requires the ability to climb steps and stairs on all levels of the building- from 5 to 8.5 inches per row.
* Requires the ability to sit, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl throughout shift.
* Requires extensive mobility to walk up and down aisles and stairs on all levels of the building- from 5 to 8.5 inches- for up to 6 hours per event, and to move quickly between floors.

The primary role of the Full-Time - 24/7 Security Lead Officer is to act as backup shift operator when the Assistant Security Manager is absent or unavailable, with full authority over shift officers. When not running shift, Lead Officers perform the duties of regular Security Officers. Lead Officers and Security Officers observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and proactively enforce security policies for building.
Essential Functions: include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Security Lead Officer Duties
* Executes supervisory duties when Assistant Security Manager is absent or unavailable, with full authority over running the shift
* Demonstrates ability to apply critical thinking and facility/event knowledge to deploy staff and resources appropriately to handle various and concurrent, ongoing security situations, both proactively and reactively
* Reports shift happenings to department and facility management, using multiple modes of communication, including daily documentation, incident reports, and email
* Interacts personally with staff and management of the various departments, companies, teams/clients, vendors, contractors, public safety partners, and other stakeholders to insure ongoing security needs are met
Security Officer Duties
* Enforces and upholds integrity of the facility and the event
* Monitors entry and exit points and door access to all specific areas of the Center
* Performs proper screening and search procedures at check points using metal detectors, bag checks, and x-ray
* Provides security escorts as required
* Ensures that no prohibited items are permitted inside, handling any such item properly
* Receives and acts on complaints from guests, clients and employees according to established policies and procedures
* Follows all rules and regulations as outlined in the 24/7 Security Officer Manual and employee guidebook
* Aids in direction of orderly evacuation of building during emergency situations
* Conducts property checks inside and outside the main building and in parking garage for security breaches
* Monitors security camera screens and reports suspicious activities to management
* Monitors and maintains door access, life safety, lighting, and fire control systems
* Drives golf cart to patrol loading dock, conduct perimeter checks, and escort when needed
* Coordinates loading dock traffic
* Logs lost and found items in a timely, accurate manner, and maintains secure custody of any found property
* Answers radio and phone calls in Control Room using professional etiquette
* Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions
* Executes duties of any other posts that arise due to special circumstances and/or redeployment
* Assists Guest Services with additional event and special function security needs
* Other duties as assigned
