CDM Smith is seeking a Design Practice Manager to join our Digital Engineering Solutions team. This individual will lead the Design Practice group, helping to drive the firm's digital transformation through the strategic implementation of digital design tools, technologies and processes. This group plays a key role in advancing digital enablement programs and technology execution plans that enhance design workflows across our architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) disciplines. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of various technologies and communicating effectively with stakeholders to drive project success. This position is ideal for someone who has demonstrated excellence in digital design technologies and processes, has applied them across a variety of AEC practices, and thrives on identifying, developing, and establishing standards, workflows, and training programs. The Design Practice Manager will lead rollout efforts and champion adoption across the organization. As a member of the Digital Engineering Solutions team, the Design Practice group will also collaborate closely the business units project delivery teams and discipline experts to identify, prioritize and advance design practice initiatives. This includes translating strategic objectives and operational challenges into actionable insights that align with broader digital strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a proven record in the field of design practice, with a mindset of continuous learning and curiosity leading to tangible results.
Under the direction of the Digital Practice Leader, the duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Working on the cutting edge of digital tools and technologies, developing standards, processes and workflows for applications by Autodesk and Bentley, and other design applications and plug-ins that can benefit the AEC practices at CDM Smith.
- Maintaining consistent and documented standards, processes, workflows, and best practices for CDM Smith's AEC digital tools and technologies in alignment with the broader digital enablement strategy Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible and easy-to-understand manner.

- Motivate and inspire a team of design practice specialists by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages bonding of group members (both within the area of design technology and across the broader team as a whole), and demonstrates flexibility.
- Manages staff, evaluates performance, mentors, approves paid time off (PTO) and training, ensures human resources (HR) policies are followed and makes recommendations regarding staffing decisions.
- Present to both internal and external audiences as needed.
- Assist the business with marketing, communications, and business development descriptions and activities from a technology perspective as needed.

As a Wastewater Treatment Technical Expert, you will be responsible for mentoring, quality, technical excellence, and design reviews. FEMA - Program Delivery Specialist

The Disaster Program Delivery Specialist: - Collects, coordinates and/or reviews applicant data to determine eligibility and priority of assignments to include but not limited to: audits for completeness, reviews information gathered during the Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) for assigned applicants, completes exploratory calls to gather information from applicants, and understands each applicants' projects and recovery priorities.

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to help develop a new technical practice focused on providing services related to the vibration testing, model validation, and thresholds for operational performance of large civil structures including, but not limited to, concrete dams, hydraulic structures, bridges, and other systems associated with dam engineering.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Primary job responsibilities will include working with senior Schnabel Principal's and consultant staff to develop a vibration monitoring and Performance Based Evaluation (PBE) group for large civil structures and systems associated with dams.
+ Training related to engineering technologies that are utilized in vibration testing and PBE disciplines.
+ Present papers and submit articles for publication that summarize the technology and development in the PBE discipline (e.g., USSD, ASDSO, NHA and CEATI).
+ Assist plan performance-based field testing and assist in field testing activities.
+ Develop structural models to simulate test response.
+ Work with test data to evaluate current load post-tension anchors.
+ Evaluate structural behavior using systems theory, fragility techniques, and performance limits.
+ Use PBE techniques to support structural assessment and evaluation of concrete dams due to earthquake events.
+ Collaborate with peers in offices across the U.S. and across various technical disciplines to achieve project goals and to expand the application of PBE techniques to new areas of civil infrastructure.
+ Support the development of engineering proposals and qualification statements.
**Required Skills/Experience:**
+ Graduate level degree in Civil Engineering or equal, with at least 10 years of professional or academic experience.
+ Understanding of structural system behavior and evaluation related to concrete dams, hydraulic structures, and other appurtenant structures.
+ Experience/proficiency with common computer-aided analysis and modeling programs applicable to these technical areas.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Attention to detail and well-organized.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check.

About the Role

Essential Functions
Adhere to the MWH safety program.
Coordinate with mechanical superintendent to configure pipe system layout.
Select proper pipes, hangers, and other hydraulic cylinders.
Assemble materials at job site.
Select type and size of pipe.
Cut, thread, and hammer pipes according to pipe system specs.
Use saws and cutting torches to craft proper sizes.
Secure pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
Secure pipes to tanks.
Set Process Equipment (pumps, mixers, heat exchangers).
Repair and maintain pipe systems and components.

Repair cracks and leaks.
Interprets plans, blueprints, and sketches of proposed structures in terms of the relevant specifications.

**Required Qualifications**

CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. The timing of when background checks will be conducted on candidates for positions outside the United States will vary based on country statutory law but in no case, will the background check precede an interview. CDM Smith will conduct interviews of qualified individuals prior to requesting a criminal background check, and no job application submitted prior to such interview shall inquire into an applicant's criminal history. If this position is subject to a background check for any convictions related to its responsibilities and requirements, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history. Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate. In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.
**Pay Range Minimum:**
$78,624
**Pay Range Maximum:**
$157,248
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
**Work Location Options:**
Successful candidate will be required to work 100% in the office.

An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
