Central Valley Christian Schools company history timeline

1979

The combination of widening boundaries and continued growth motivated the Society to start a second elementary campus in Visalia in 1979.

1981

Valley Christian was first conceptualized in 1981, when six men, including the senior pastors at Bethany Community Church, First Baptist Church in Tempe, and Grace Community Church, met together to consider the creation of a Christian high school in the East Valley.

1982

Again motivated by growth the Society purchased 25 acres of land from the city of Visalia and started the new school with the addition of a high school in 1982.

1986

The first graduating class was in 1986.

1987

The grade levels continued to slowly grow and expand from that point until Valley Christian had its first graduating class in 1987.

1998

Construction began on the Skyway Campus on August 20, 1998.

2000

The junior high and high school grew to about 1200 students by January 2000.

2000 A new school complex is finished, classes begin in the spring.

2003

The Leigh Campus opened in February 2003, after being delayed by a fire, providing a permanent home for our elementary students through a long-term lease arrangement with Trinity Lutheran Church.

2012

He would go on to serve the school in various roles as an educator, athletic director, and administrator until 2012.

2022
