Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs all activities of the Department of Nuclear Medicine in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Hospital. Provides excellent customer support by demonstrating the Northwest values of Innovation, Compassion, Accountability and Teamwork. Peforms Nuclear Medicine (NM) procedures using prescribed technique; maintains proficiency on all related equipment. Communicates with various people within the Department and patients, as well as other customers throughout the organization. Performs a variety of support duties to assure smooth operations of the department. Performs all job duties with a focus on safety for the patient, self and co-workers. Follows universal protocol for patient identification and infectious diseases.
Demonstrates the appropriate level of knowledge in all areas of Nuclear Medicine to include injection of radiopharmaceuticals and other pharmacologic agents related to a procedure.
Uses knowledge of patient positioning and other pharmacolic agents related to a procedure.
Evaluates examination to assure technical quality.
Performs daily check of NM equipment to assure preparedness.
Utilizes HIS/RIS to assure proper ordering and completion of NM procedures.
Explains and answers questions concerning NM procedures.
Recognizes priorities and deals with them appropriately.
Process images according to established protocols.
REQUIREMENTS:
Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field
Graduate of a school of Nuclear Medicine
Less than one year of experience
Licensed by the State of MDCertified by CNMT or ARRT(N) or registry eligible

The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. Duties may include venipuncture medication and vaccine administration measurement and documentation of vital signs and assisting providers with patient exams and telephone and clerical support. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality and safety standards. Complies with governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
Assists providers with patient preparation for the examination minor office procedures and with the examination and education of patients. Supports other members of the clinical care team assuring optimal best-practice patient flow; manages variable and unpredictable patient volume throughout the workday. Participates in daily team huddles to review and prepare for scheduled patient visits. Fulfills infection prevention and environmental responsibilities as assigned which many include: Light cleaning during clinic hours and cleaning of equipment. Updates appropriate records of scheduled equipment maintenance and manages drug and medical supply inventories.
Provides telephone screening services to gather information from patients determine appropriate disposition and document per established telephone screening protocols.
Under onsite provider supervision may insert intravenous catheter for physician initiated IV fluid therapy or administration of intravenous medications. Under direct onsite physician supervision may insert remove and monitor urinary catheter for procedures and prepare and administer oral drugs and injections limited to intradermal subcutaneous and intramuscular. May perform phlebotomy.
Utilizes the EMR to propose patient medication refills for provider approval. Completes requisitions for tests (if applicable). Contacts insurance companies for Pre-authorizations for patient medications and specialty referrals including insurance authorization.
Floats to other sites/locations within the system as appropriate and performs all duties at multiple sites.
Attends scheduled meetings including but not limited to regular staff meetings and training classes for safety infection control OSHA CLIA BLS and others as required.

* Facilitate student mastery of core learning outcomes using the most relevant pedagogical and scholarly tools available.
* Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum.
* Develop and update policy and procedures related to the clinical training phases of the programs.
* Coordinate clinical schedules for students in specific programs.
* Serve as first point of contact for students, clinical sites and businesses to assist with resolving issues and provide communication and feedback regarding program.
* Coordinate scheduling, paperwork and follow-up for students prior to, during and after their clinical assignments while maintaining communication with class instructors and Program Manager.
* Communicate and establish contracts between FCC and participating community medical facilities, using clinical evaluation forms.
* Plan, manage, review and revise the clinical component of the CNA program to meet evolving practice skills for effectiveness of the experiences.
* Verify and archive documentation required for externships/clinical placements.
* Schedule and coordinate all student rotations at the clinical affiliates.
* Participate in student evaluation and advisement related to externships/clinical placements.
* Serve as the CNA Program Coordinator for the Maryland Board of Nursing
* Research and establish new affiliate sites
* Correspond with and visit affiliate sites for needs, improvements, and upcoming placements.
* Engage employers to connect CNA students with job openings
* Respond to student, faculty, and staff issues in accordance with College policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing course content, recordkeeping requirements, reporting requirements, and student safety.
* Participate in program review as scheduled and participate in collaborative program development and outreach initiatives with other College departments and external partners.
* Maintain data confidentiality and integrity and ensure compliance with FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act and Title IX).
* Provide input into the development of fiscal year program budgets.
* Conform to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
* Participate in the Healthcare Careers Program Advisory Committee (PAC).
* Provide occasional substitute coverage for Healthcare Careers courses when approved by the Director, Workforce & Community Education.
* Serve as College representative to the statewide advisory groups that pertain to program areas.
* Attend conferences and participate in committees internal and external to the college.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited academic institution
2. Hold a valid nursing license
3. Two (2) years' experience in clinical practice
4. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
5. Documented contemporary experience in a teaching role (didactic, clinical, continuing education,
and/or in-service)
6. Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
