Nick McCarter is the founder and CEO of Chartis Federal, a leading provider of innovative and cost-effective IT solutions for the United States government. McCarter launched Chartis Consulting Corporation in 2008 with a single project for the Department of Energy and has since grown the firm to more than 75 professionals, supporting 18 public-sector organizations and reducing government spending by millions of dollars. Chartis, translated "map" from Greek, works with clients to strategically map IT investment plans to business needs. Washington Technology, CIO Review and Inc. Magazine have all recognized Chartis Federal for its growth, potential and success as one of the country’s top private companies.

McCarter began his career with Blueprint Technologies as a strategic planner, where he also learned to run a small business. Prior to founding Chartis Federal, he helped develop the enterprise architecture practice at Project Performance Corporation and grew it into a multimillion-dollar practice.

McCarter lives in Leesburg, Virginia with his wife and twin boys. He supports organizations that share his appreciation for the core American values of hard work and community service, investing in other small businesses and the local community as well as The Wounded Warrior Project, Border Patrol Foundation, The Nature Generation, Operation Smile, Trekking for Kids, The Arc of Fairfax, and the Lombardi Foundation. McCarter also serves on the Executive Advisory Board for Computer Science at James Madison University, from which he holds a bachelor of science.

Brian Creswick is the chief operating officer at Chartis Federal. As COO, Brian leads business development, partnerships, and several aspects of corporate administration including finance, contracts, human resources, and security.

I have experience designing, developing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing transport networks that support mission-critical government agencies as well as commercial customers. I have worked in environments that involve networking aspects such as operations, analysis, testing, implementation, and security. I possess a wealth of hands-on experience with various product offerings from technology vendors such as Cisco, Brocade, Juniper, Vanguard, and Palo Alto.

My most recent experience involves integrating telecommunications technologies (i.e., Land Mobile Radio, Wireless, RF, etc.) with other types of nationwide government systems, including the FPS Tactical Communications System and the CBP Wireless System.
