Shift Supervisors are responsible for directing, coordinating, training, coaching, and supervising the daily activities of assigned employees that are directly and/or indirectly engaged in the production process of assigned products/departments/processes in a manner that ensures all safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor utilization goals are achieved.
Create and monitor daily efficient flow of material through the department by utilization of manpower and equipment in the department.
Determine and implement continuous improvement plans for the equipment, and overall department.
Monitor yearly budget for the department ensure goals are met by reducing cost related to production and MRO supplies.
Foster working relationships with associated departments i.e. Planning, Engineering and Quality.
Establish and maintain effective communication vehicles such as toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
Understands, communicates, and follows all company policies, work rules, and Union Contract. Effectively utilizes this knowledge to: Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems; Correctly maintain time and attendance records; Confer with Group Leader(s) and employees to coordinate activities of individual departments; Ensure department inventory is accurate; and Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel related matters that affect the delivery and quality.
Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd Shift, depending on the current operational needs.
It is the expectation of the company that Supervisors will accomplish these goals by working to a high ethical standard and consistently complies with all company policies, work rules, Union Contractual agreements, and applicable laws with little to no direct supervision.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred but Not Required
Manufacturing environment a plus but not required.
3+ Years of Automotive Manufacturing Experience; Five (5) to seven (7) years of Supervisory experience, heat treating, metal finishing or working with metals is preferred
Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word required;
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Project Management and ISO procedures is required
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work; excellent time management skills required.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate good judgment and decision making with the ability to analyze situations and present a resolution(s).

A TMC Shift Supervisor is responsible for Traffic Operations situational awareness, data entry and monitoring a designated region, district and roadway for normal and emergency conditions to identify incidents, coordinate response and update status for DOT and Consultant management in a 24/7/365 environment, using various software, CCTV and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

Job Summary:
PIC Group's client has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Shift Supervisor to support a natural gas fired plant, consisting of two steam turbines and one gas turbine, located in Queens, New York. The Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility and monitors all plant generation equipment. The Shift Supervisor will routinely tour the plant, overseeing the work of various personnel, while operating within all safety regulations, environmental limits and permits. The Shift Supervisor will, in the event of emergencies or unusual operations, direct or personally perform the required operations as well as coordinate the activities of all personnel involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel at the facility. Will ensure that all personnel follow all applicable policies and procedures and work in a safe and efficient manner.
* Responsible for approving all requests for removing equipment from service for maintenance and other purposes, ensuring equipment is properly cleared and tagged, and issuing safety permits, in accordance with plant procedures.
* Maintain the plant within all environmental limits and permits.
* Promptly respond to all emergent injuries or accidents.
* Direct the completion of shift, daily, weekly and monthly checks.
* Maximize operational performance of all aspects of the facility.
* Troubleshoot plant operational issues.
* Coordinate all plant maintenance activities.
* Manage multiple projects as determined by the Operations Manager.
* Train and manage a workforce that is motivated, flexible in skills, cross trained, and technically capable of ensuring an effective and motived team.
* Maintaining accurate and complete administrative personnel records.
Job Requirements:
* Proven work experience with the principles of power plant systems, design of mechanical systems and controls, valves, pumps, mechanical components, boilers, steam and feed water systems.
* Prior hands-on work experience with main power plant components and systems including motors, rotating plant items, electrical auxiliaries, cabling systems, switchgear, protection systems, insulation and cooling systems, high and low voltage transformers, high and low voltage switchgear, transmission interconnection equipment, and bus bar installations.
* Detailed knowledge of the operation of steam generating power stations, and instrument and control systems.
* Ability to originate and monitor plant procedures and technical instructions.
* Effective communication skills, strong leadership skills and problem solving/decision making skills are a must.
* Ability to work shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required to support the staffing of the facility 24/7.
* Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).
* Valid Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements:
* Work environment includes working outdoors, working at heights, extreme temperatures and high humidity areas at generating unit work locations.
* Work in and around rotating equipment, high voltage electrical equipment, high noise areas; ability to climb ladders up to 100 feet.
* Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
* Work in confined spaces, some requiring the use of respirators and other protective equipment.
* Emergency situations will require the use of a respirator.
* Ability to climb stairs.
* Contact lenses are not permitted except for specific medical reasons.
* OSHA approved footwear is required.
Education / Experience:
* 5+ years of experience in power/steam plant operations and maintenance.
* Engineering degree preferred.
* Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers and electrical generation, as well as formal technical training is required.
* Must have a New York City High Pressure Boiler Operator License.

STATEMENT:
This position is fully accountable for the profitable operation of a specific shift designated by the General Manager while adhering to all company guidelines and regulations.
Ensure the restaurant is in full compliance to all local, state and federal regulations to include health regulations, hour and wage regulations, age restrictions, fair employment practices, ADA and any other appropriate regulations required for the legal operation of the business.
Ensure knowledge, adherence and enforcement of all Firehouse Subs Policies and Procedures.
Ensures the profitability of the business by operation shifts within established guidelines and requirements for food cost, labor, controllables, utilities and sales growth.
