BOISE — Idaho Territory was created in 1863 during the Civil War.
The town was established in 1907 by the Kuhn Brothers, as part of the North Side Twin Falls Canal Company.
The First National Bank was located on the main floor of the building .The Prescott & Craig Insurance Company has occupied the building since 1908 and is now located on the main floor.
The grand opening of the North Side Inn was on July 1,1909.
The lava rock barn is the earliest stone building in Jerome County built by mason H.T. Pugh. It was completed in 1912 and is significant not only for its style, size, and workmanship, but also because of its association with the agricultural development of the North side.
The Jerome Co-operative Creamery was organized in Jerome in 1915 to provide a market for milk produced locally.
The influenza pandemic of 1918-19 killed up to 50 million people worldwide.
Sadly, the North Side Inn was demolished in June 1967.
In 1982 the building was moved downtown to First Avenue East to be used as a Senior center.
The Minidoka Internment National Monument became the 385th unit of the National Park System on January 17, 2001.
In 2014 the property was purchased by Nina and John Hollifield who have continued improvements including a restaurant, specialty shops, and the barn.
