City of Kennedale company history timeline
In July 1947, with a population of 300, Kennedale voted to incorporate.
In 1976, the land was acquired by the City of Kennedale.
A City of Kennedale Home Rule Charter was adopted in 1997.
Another milestone occurred in 1998, when Kennedale adopted a Home Rule charter.
In 2008, the section house was severely damaged by fire, but the city salvaged materials from the original structure and has used them to rebuild a replica in the TownCenter, which houses the Kennedale Chamber of Commerce.
The city's population continues to grow, and as of 2013, the population was 7,236.
