1857 Okaman St Mary Old Otisco
When the Winnebago were moved after the Dakota War of 1862, the land was opened for settlement.
The city of Waseca was platted in July 1867, on the line of the Winona and St Peter Railroad.
The research facility is located in the historic P.C. Bailey house, built in 1868 by horse thief Dayton Smith and listed on the National Register.
