Woodburn was historically a farming community. It was founded in 1889 by Jesse H. Settlemier.
The city was incorporated in 1890.
In 1892, he sold his mercantile interests and became a real estate broker.
Wolfer’s Heating & Air Conditioning was started by Edwin Wolfer in 1901, located in Anita, Iowa, only 100 miles from the Lennox factory.
After getting married, Edwin moved the business to the state of Oregon in 1915.
Cornwell Woodburn and Wilsonville Funeral Chapels was founded in 1933 by J. Melvin Ringo in Woodburn, when he purchased the business on the corner of First and Garfield.

Recognizing a growing and underserved population, construction of a new chapel in Wilsonville was completed in 1995, making it the first new funeral home in the state of Oregon in over 20 years.
His son-in-law, Greg Lundeen continues to work for the company as a Sales Representative, along with owners John and Karen Christin, who purchased the company in 2009.
He started working in the funeral industry in 2012.
Tess grew up in Southern Oregon and moved to Portland in 2019 to pursue a career in the funeral industry.
Alex was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and is a 2019 graduate of Mt.
She started her career working for a trade service in Portland, spent a significant amount of time managing a pet crematorium, and joined our staff January of 2022.
