The **ideal candidate** has a strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary rehab regulations, is detail-oriented, skilled in data registry management, and adept at driving process improvements independently while working effectively within a team. **A caregiver in this position works days, from 8:00am-4:30pm.** **The position offers some flexibility in determining work hours, provided the caregiver fulfills 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard daytime business hours. A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Standardize indicators across the system and work with managers and staff to improve quality utilizing the ability to comprehend complex situations and act to correct processes that are critical to the operation.
+ Develop an overview report that reflects Cardiopulmonary quality initiatives/results.
+ Must be familiar with all governmental and accreditation organizations' regulations, rules, and standards.
+ Develop and maintain open, honest and mutually beneficial relationships with Director, Managers, medical staff and coworkers.
+ Chair ad-hoc committees, develop action plans, advise managers, coordinate training of staff and track progress.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy Technology with a minimum of Associate Degree in applied science
+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialing through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) w/valid Ohio license
+ Computer, analytical, and other data analysis/manipulation skills
+ Proven human relations skills, communication, and Cardiopulmonary operations leadership
+ Active Ohio Respiratory Care License (RCP)
+ Six years of previous patient care delivery experience including pediatric, adult, and critical care, pulmonary function/diagnostics, emergency care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related science/business
+ Advanced Cardiac Lift Support (ACLS)

**Physical Requirements:**

A Brief Overview
Located in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Research Institute, the Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO) provides high quality services to assist investigators and study teams in the start-up, execution and completion of clinical research studies. As part of the CRSO, the Clinical Trial Support program provides services related to the administrative support of clinical trials, including the Recruitment Enhancement Core (REC) and the Research Family Partners Group (RFP).
This role works with the Director/Assistant Director of Clinical Trial Support on meeting the strategies and objectives of the Recruitment Enhancement Core (REC) and the Research Family Partners Group (RFP). Serves as a liaison between investigators, external agencies, and community-based organizations in regard to recruitment plan development and community engagement. This role also supports family representatives within the Research Family Partners group.
This role enhances recruitment and retention of community and parental advisors and research subjects. The Research Recruitment Coordinator supports investigator's community engagement and recruitment efforts in alignment with the IRB approved recruitment plans and CHOP policies and procedures. Consults with investigators and study teams during grant submissions to ensure the patient and family voice is represented to help enhance grant design and funding potential. This role will also provide consultation during recruitment plan development and throughout the life of a study to offer input on recruitment strategy and enhancing recruitment success. Develops creative solutions to increasing recruitment, enhances internal communication between investigators and departments at CHOP and in the community related to recruitment efforts, and develops strategies to expand participant pools for research at CHOP. Maintains an internal recruitment list and manages new additions and recruitment opt-out requests. Promotes the services of the Recruitment Enhancement Core both internally and externally. Develops and maintains communication tools for the REC through partnerships with Research Communications, Public Relations, the CHOP social media group, and external collaborators. Ensures timely completion of workload and adherence to REC standards.
This role also helps to facilitate parent advisory council meetings, supports stipend payment to families, and helps to onboard families. A Brief Overview

**This is a remote, PRN position. Candidates applying for this role will need to reside in Florida. A caregiver in this position works between 6:00am and 2:30pm, or 2:00pm and 10:00pm.** **Weekend rotations occur every 3rd weekend.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Actively participate in the maintenance of 24/7 daily systems to maximize patient flow and optimize bed capacity across the enterprise.
+ Support centralized communications between referring and accepting provider services for patients that will be admitted as a direct admit from home or office.
+ Manage bed planning section within EPIC to monitor current and future admissions and discharges to determine impact on patient flow, resources and enterprise capacity.
+ Communicate and collaborate with Access Nurses, Hospital Transfer Flow Coordinators and Nursing Operations Managers in triage, prioritization and all bed assignment activities associated with accurate patient transfer and placement needs.
+ Collaborate with nursing and other ancillary departments to maximize day-to-day patient and bed flow management (e.g., preparing for and leading bed meetings, ensuring accuracy of electronic patient placement systems data, providing backup for patient placement discussions and decisions across the enterprise).
+ Utilize standardized patient placement processes across all areas of responsibility.
+ Assign beds for all patients according to diagnosis and/or specific needs.
+ Communicate hospital census information.
+ Correct reported census errors and act as a resource to ensure accurate census and patient charges.
+ Follow HIPPA privacy regulations and Patient Bill of Rights and act as a resource for others in the organization.

Steps may include paging critical response teams, alerting security and executing overhead pages.
+ Answer inbound calls and search databases or reference materials to obtain needed information to transfer callers to the appropriate destination within established metrics and productivity standards.
+ Navigate through the QGenda on-call system to identify the on-call provider and process on-call via alpha page or phone call to the provider with patient details
+ Process special protocols for Main Campus including Shock team, LVAD, Patients Plus, Transplant and Ortho reconstruction hotline
+ Handle calls for multiple hospital sites.
+ Offer special assistance to people who are unable to dial or who are in emergency situations and provide relay service for hearing impaired callers.
+ Answer routine questions and provide information to the public about the organization using electronic database and other tools and reference materials. Call types and questions can vary based on a variety of factors (seasonal changes, marketing campaigns, new medical studies, etc.).
+ Perform various data entry tasks, such as updating application database, phone directories and other electronic reference material.
+ In emergency situations, may answer internal medical emergency calls as a backup to maintain business continuity. Medical Emergencies will be processed and dispatched following prescribed protocols established by Critical Care Response Committee.
+ Work in Epic to view or look up patient information using the house census and provide patients with appointment details such as location, provider, date/time, etc.
