Job Summary:

PRIMARY FUNCTION of a part-time Certified Substance Abuse Counselor:
Provide individual and group counseling as a Substance Abuse Counselor for designated youth in Elk Hill's Residential programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide and document weekly individual substance abuse counseling for residents; Provide and document weekly group substance abuse counseling for residents
Provide documentation/session notes of all counseling services within the Credible software program on a weekly basis
Conduct initial assessments and re-assessments of clients as directed/assigned
Help participate in service planning meetings for each residential youth, as needed or required. Conduct and construct service plans for each youth in residential services regarding their substance abuse goal/objective only
Receive documented routine clinical and administrative supervision regarding services from the Residential Clinical Director (LMHP)
Help to obtain and maintain all applicable documentation required by licensing and/or Medicaid in the provision of services
Provide to the Residential Director, Program Director, or Residential Case Manager documentation for presentation at agency FAPT and CPMT meetings when a client's case is being reviewed
Be communicative and coordinate with residential group home staff and supervisor regarding their schedule to see residents ahead of time and any necessary information to be shared
Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of clients, flexibility, a non-threatening manner, respect for clients' autonomy, confidentiality, socio-cultural values, personal goals, lifestyle choices, and appropriate professional boundaries and ethics
Develop and maintain positive relationships with referring agencies, social workers, court service personnel, parents, other licensed mental health professionals and all other persons involved in the resident's services
Work cooperatively with all Elk Hill staff to improve the quality of the whole organization
For CSAC-E/CADC-E: Provide all documentation required by Department of Health Professionals to clinical supervisor in a timely fashion for completion. QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in human services; and

General Description of Work:
The Mental Health and Family Services Specialist is responsible for providing mental health and behavioral strategies to help strengthen the children's social and emotional skills and improve their ability to learn, as well as, to provide support and coaching to families and staff working with those children, utilizing Conscious Discipline practices under the supervision of the HS/EHS Director.
The Mental Health and Family Services Specialist will work collaboratively with supervisory staff, families and instructional staff to refer, develop and implement individual behavior plans, and make referrals to outside agencies as necessary. Support teaching staff in the establishment and maintenance of positive and productive relationships with children and families. Monitor, collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of social emotional/behavioral health practices. Participate in meetings and trainings as assigned.
The Mental Health and Family Services Specialist assists with developing and implementing behavioral interventions and delivering classroom support based on child behavior observation outcomes, with the support and guidance of Early Childhood Development Coordinator and HS/EHS Director. This position provides education and guidance, to families and colleagues, about social emotional development and positive classroom guidance and maintains the high quality behavioral services provided by Shenandoah Valley Head Start. The Mental Health and Family Services Specialist will participate in the identification of children who may have social, emotional, behavioral or familial concerns by working in partnership with Family Service Advocates, Education Staff, school personnel and families.
This position involves the supporting and tracking of mental health services and the implementation of all other performance standards that pertain to the mental health of children, families, and staff. Monitoring and tracking of mental health services occurs in conjunction with Leadership staff to ensure effective implementation of services throughout the HS and EHS-CCP program.
The Mental Health and Family Services Specialist supports FSAs to proactively assist parents, families and young children in acquiring the family strengthening tools, parenting skills, problem solving strategies, communication skills, healthy lifestyle habits, social and emotional skills necessary for increased self-sufficiency and school readiness. The Mental Health and Family Services Specialist will collaborate with Family Service Advocates and other staff to ensure families are linked to appropriate services within the program and/or in their local communities. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide individual, group and family therapy as a Residential Therapist for designated youth in Elk Hills residential programs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide and document weekly individual therapy for residents; Provide and document weekly group psychotherapy for residents
Provide and document family therapy sessions, as required
Conduct initial assessments and re-assessments of clients as directed/assigned
Help facilitate and participate in service planning meetings for each residential youth. Conduct and construct service plans, in collaboration with the case manager, for each youth in residential services
Receive documented routine clinical and administrative supervision regarding services from the Residential Clinical Director (LMHP)
Help to obtain and maintain all applicable documentation required by licensing and/or Medicaid in the provision of services
Provide documentation for the Residential Director, Program Director, or Residential Case Manager at agency FAPT and FPM meetings and/or be present virtually when a clients case is being reviewed
Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of clients, flexibility, in a non-threatening manner, respect for clients autonomy, confidentiality, socio-cultural values, personal goals, lifestyle choices, and family interactions, and appropriate professional boundaries and ethics
Develop and maintain positive relationships with referring agencies, social workers, court service personnel, parents, other licensed mental health professionals and all other persons involved in the residents services
Provide trainings to our staff, as needed, to help serve our youth, families, and community
Attend staff meetings on a weekly basis to help staff each youth but also to help staff understand various intervention strategies to promote youths progress
Work cooperatively with all Elk Hill staff to improve the quality of the whole organization
Serve on-call for those on their caseload that may need additional support and/or in crisis and requesting to speak to their residential therapist or provide additional support to the current staff mediating a situation
For LMHP-E clinicians: Provide all documentation required by Department of Health Professionals to clinical supervisor(s) in a timely fashion for completion. Submit all required supervision paperwork to Department of Health Professionals as required. Receive routine, as outlined within the parameters for eligibility of licensure, clinical and administrative supervision
If a licensed clinician, can provide monthly clinical and administrative supervision to all residential staff after two years of having their license and took supervisory course
If a licensed clinician, help support the Residential Clinical Director when on vacation, by signing off on treatment plans and approving them.

Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional; If providing clinical supervision to LMHP-E, must meet minimum board qualifications to provide supervision which consists of two years being licensed and having completed the two-day supervision seminar requirement; or
A masters degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling and a combination of one-year professional experience with children required. Must be board approved as license eligible and receive supervision from an LMHP
Ability to maintain professional license, or, continue working toward obtaining professional license
Must have up-to-date certification in the facilitys Behavior Management Program and have the willingness and ability to apply such skills as needed and/or required in the day-to-day interactions with youth

Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Therapist I - Rec Therapist to plan and provide therapeutic recreation interventions and supervise provision of services/programs by subordinate staff. The Rec Therapist will ensure expectations are clear, well communicated, and relate to the goals and objectives of the department or unit; performance issues are addressed and documented as they occur; and the requirements of the performance planning and evaluation system are met and evaluations are completed by established deadlines with proper documentation.
