SCOPE South Bronx United (SBU) is seeking energetic individuals with a passion for youth development and soccer to join our team of SBU Coach-Mentors. In the position, the individual will serve as a mentor and Head Soccer Coach for a travel team of boys or girls within the SBU Academy Program. As a mentor, the individual serves as the first point of contact for any issues regarding SBU student athletes on the team and as a positive influence promoting education, character, and community. As a coach, the individual will run twice-weekly soccer trainings and coach the team at weekend games. The coach will have the goal of keeping youth active, instilling fun, and helping youth grow as both players and students. This is a part time position from September to June requiring approximately 8-12 hours/week during the fall and spring seasons. Hours will decrease during the winter off-season (January-February) to 4-6 hours/week. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Serve as a Mentor for a team of approximately 20 youth (mentees): ● Serve as first point of staff level contact for the mentees. ● Help plan, set, and keep students on their program schedule. ● Maintain weekly contact with each mentee in person and via phone. ● Maintain regular contact with mentees' parent/guardian. ● Help SBU Education Director monitor student academic performance and assist in the collection of student report cards, transcripts, and school documents. ● Work with SBU Youth Counselor and Education Director to identify social, emotional, and academic issues or concerns. ● Check email daily and maintain good communication with SBU office staff ● Hold a weekly call with SBU office staff to discuss progress of each student-athlete on the team. ● Schedule one monthly in person meeting with program directors. ● Complete progress reports for each mentee two times per year. ● Attend program orientation/training (2 trainings per year) 2. TGA Junior Golf of Upper Manhattan is just starting, the demand is through the roof, and we NEED COACHES! This posting is specifically for individuals who would love to teach the game of golf to KIDS. We are looking for responsible individuals who are passionate about teaching kids. TGA uses GOLF as the vehicle to teach kids ages 5-14 a skill, while incorporating education, character development, and proper etiquette. We do it in the comfort of their own school or community. We do all this while making FUN and SAFETY our two top priorities. Coaches can work 1 day per week all the way to 5 days per week, getting 2-5 hours per day during the school year and up to 6+ hours during the summer. We are looking for both lead and assistant coaches. Coaches must be at least 18 years of age. We train all staff on the TGA curriculum, so extensive coaching experience is not required. Actively engage guests during Golf Experience Engagement Time - promoting lessons, swing evaluations, fittings, and memberships. Build and retain a loyal client base by creating welcoming, memorable, and performance-driven experiences. Represent Five Iron Golf at corporate events, delivering fun, high-energy instructional sessions. Maintain a consistent lesson schedule that meets productivity goals and performance expectations. Leverage social media to promote your coaching services and the Five Iron brand. Conduct junior clinics and support community outreach programs to grow the game. Follow up with students to convert swing evaluations into ongoing lessons and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). Serve as an on-floor Performance Expert, engaging with members to elevate their overall golf experience. Participate in ongoing education and certification programs to continually sharpen your coaching skills. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of golf industry experience or graduation from a PGM program. Proven one-on-one and group coaching experience preferred. Strong understanding of swing mechanics, ball flight laws, and launch monitor data. Proficient with video analysis and comfortable with golf technology tools. Excellent communication skills - able to connect with golfers of all skill levels and explain complex concepts clearly. Energetic and engaging personality with the ability to facilitate fun, group-based learning experiences. Driven to learn, grow, and help students achieve measurable improvement. Bachelor's degree preferred. PGA or LPGA affiliation and/or PGM program graduation are strong pluses. Physically able to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs for extended periods. TGA Junior Golf of Upper Manhattan is just starting, the demand is through the roof, and we NEED COACHES! This posting is specifically for individuals who would love to teach the game of golf to KIDS. We are looking for responsible individuals who are passionate about teaching kids. TGA uses GOLF as the vehicle to teach kids ages 5-14 a skill, while incorporating education, character development, and proper etiquette. We do it in the comfort of their own school or community. We do all this while making FUN and SAFETY our two top priorities. Coaches can work 1 day per week all the way to 5 days per week, getting 2-5 hours per day during the school year and up to 6+ hours during the summer. We are looking for both lead and assistant coaches. Coaches must be at least 18 years of age. We train all staff on the TGA curriculum, so extensive coaching experience is not required. We have programs year round and work with coaches' flexible schedules. We have programs all over the UWS and UES and will do our best to schedule you close by where you would be traveling from.
