1971

The first of the two divisions was Drury Construction, which was established in 1971.

1974

CEC began as a corporation in 1974 with two employees, Bill Brown and Harry Walsh.

1981

By 1981, CEC expanded to 10 employees and completed construction on its new facilities at 3608 Fernandina Road, where the company expanded further and developed a long list of repeat clients.

1982

The second division was established in 1982 as the Furniture Division to supply the Drury Hotels.

In fact, the first furniture built by the company in 1982 is still being used today in one of the hotels.

1983

Columbia Construction Corporation was founded in 1983 when two already established divisions of the Drury Industries organization were merged.

2000

Martin Jansen was the president of the company from its inception until his death on October 24, 2000.

2015

In 2015, after long and successful careers, Bill and Harry both retired, transferring ownership of the company to 3 employees: Bill Flowers, Josh Rabon, and Clay Walsh.

2017

By 2017, CEC had outgrown its space at 3608, and relocated to 3740-A Fernandina Road.
