**About the Team:**
The ASE (Access Sustaining Engineering) Team within the Comcast CONNECT organization is responsible for designing, testing, researching, and sustaining next-generation access network technologies. Additionally, the team is responsible for end-to-end Tier 4/5 support of DOCSIS iCMTS (CBR8, E6000), vCMTS (DAA), and CPE technologies.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Provide technical support for issues that impact the development and deployment of new residential and business services over Comcast's DOCSIS network.
+ Validate and troubleshoot problems identified during lab testing or via field escalations, and drive issues to resolution. This work includes utilizing lab test equipment to perform measurements for supporting and troubleshooting RF, DOCSIS, and network impairments.
+ Produce, review, and coach junior engineers to support detailed design work, SMOP creation, and operations execution of complex changes across converged environments.
+ Work in a heavily matrixed environment and act as an integrated team member or leader with virtual teams to shorten the R&D and Design cycle for new products and network evolution.
+ Create and document high-level, detailed network designs to support business objectives. Utilize WIKI and JIRA for sharing information and tracking technical problems.
+ Ensure functionality and performance of DOCSIS CPE devices, troubleshoot and support resolution of technical issues.
+ Collaborate with CableLabs, industry partners, and cross-functional teams to improve test plans, define requirements, and resolve issues.
**Skills & Experience We're Looking For:**
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline and 4+ years working with DOCSIS based or Cloud technologies.
+ Proven experience with Cable Labs/SCTE specifications and CMTS/CCAP hardware and software, DAA implementations (Remote PHY, R-MACPHY).
+ Experience and strong understanding of NetworkEngineering, NetworkSecurity, TCP/IP (TCP, UDP, DNS, SNMP, etc.), Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.).
+ Hands on experience with DOCSIS network lab equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Noise Generators, Traffic Generator, etc.) with a strong focus on testing and evaluation.
+ Ideal candidate will have experience developing process flow diagrams and training documentation.
+ Strong initiative to build relationships both internally and externally with minimal supervision/direction from management.

+ Master of Science in a related discipline + 3 years of relevant experience.
+ CCNA/CCNP experience is a plus.

Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
Provides quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.
Provides assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.
Provides input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints.
Supervises all personnel engaged in the operation and support of network facilities, including all communications equipment on various platforms in large scale or multi-shift operations.
Supervises complex operations that involve two or more additional functions such as, but not limited to, network operations, systems security, systems software support, and production support activities.
Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.
Provides routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals).
Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
Troubleshoots network systems when necessary and makes improvements to the network.
Manages the product lifecycle for the network infrastructure to assure operational availability; designs and specifies changes for implementation.
Receives performance data and analyzes the performance of installed technologies. Proposes and implements any required changes, including identifying and planning for any resulting impacts on other technologies.
May lead a small to moderate sized project, or more typically, components of a larger project.
Oversees implementation efforts related to their area of responsibility.
Conducts complete diagnostics of most network services problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the technical architecture.
Prepares reports on a monthly/quarterly basis for project metrics, SLAs, and achievements.
Provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members as appropriate.
Documents new procedures in a clear and concise manner. May participate in the development of new or modified procedures.
Performs administrative duties associated with the ongoing operation and support of City-wide network such as billing, customer assistance, and inventory.
