Summary: Responsible for repairing, setting up, assembling, adjusting, and maintaining any and all types of construction equipment owned by CSE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
a.Receives, stores, and draws supplies and tools for use on a project.
b.Performs proper procedures for the care of existing tools.
c.Schedules preventative maintenance and required repairs on fixed and mobile equipment.
d.Assembles, sets up, adjusts, maintains, and repairs any and all types of equipment including but not limited to: vehicles, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and cranes.
e.Performs major and minor repairs on company vehicles; Services with fuel, oil, air, water, and fluids on a rotational basis. Checks alignment of steering wheel and rotates tires.
f.Uses a cutting torch, brazes and welds as necessary.
g.Demonstrates proficiency for diagnosing and repairing equipment in a safe and productive manner.
h.Familiar with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations, CSE, Inc. Rules and Regulations and Site-Specific Rules and Regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Description SummaryA Mechanic's job is to efficiently maintain to the highest quality all of W. O. Grubb's equipment, realize cost savings whenever possible, and help achieve the mission and goals of the company, while maintaining outstanding customer service. The Mechanic usually works under direct supervision and expected to work long hours with frequent standing and moving. Possible exposure to extreme heat or cold external temperatures, and subject to working weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing PM and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical systems (including troubleshooting onboard computer systems), hydraulic systems (booms, outriggers, pumps), brakes and other basic components;
Ensure that all service reports are completed correctly and submitted to the Maintenance Supervisor;
Ensure that all routine maintenance is performed (and documented) according to specific equipment and manufacturer's specifications;
Ensure that all required repairs are completed efficiently and cost effectively, and that all repairs are documented in detail;
Ensure that all required reports and forms are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
Must have the ability to work on hydraulic and conventional cranes, forklifts, tractor trailers and miscellaneous equipment;
Must work well and communicate effectively with operator and other mechanics;
Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent;
Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
Desired:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in crane maintenance with proven troubleshooting skills;
Experience in crane operations (CCO is highly desirable);
Must work safely in a fast paced environment - many times under pressure;
Experience with Grove, Demag, Link-Belt and Liebherr cranes;
Experience in diesel, gasoline and propane engines;
Proven ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics;
Creative thinking skills to make continuous improvements;
Prefer candidates with proficient oral and written communication skills, technical skills, and functional skills;
Willing to work day and night shifts, weekends and holidays.

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee
must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site. Work hours may include occasional nights and weekends which may include overnight stays and travel to job sites.

Requirements:
Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on trucks, off-road equipment, and aerial lift equipment in a safe, efficient, and quality-minded manner.
Key Areas:
Perform field and shop repair work on fleet units. Perform operation tests prior to repairs to verify complaints. Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to the manufacturer's specifications.
Follow paper-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, saving and tagging all warranty and core parts, documenting all repairs on work order procedures, follow parts ordering procedures.
Perform a final operational test on units to quality-check all repairs
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on units to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit.
Daily Functions:
Perform DOT inspections.
Perform annual safety inspections on units.
Examine vehicles to determine if any additional safety or repair work is needed.
Inspect, maintain and repair aerial lift equipment and cranes to maintain the safety and reliability of the unit. Visually inspect the structural integrity of aerial lift equipment and cranes and report any deficiencies so that they may be corrected using established procedures.
Perform maintenance and periodic welding on equipment (subject to level of welding qualification).
All other duties as assigned.
Education and Expertise:
HD truck technical training or 2 years related experience
Current and valid commercial driver's license is a plus (Class A or B)
Valid medical card
Qualified FMCSA DOT Inspector (subject to internal review)
High school diploma or recognized equivalent
Possess a commitment to working safely
Highly motivated self-starter with the desire to continue learning
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Engines & transmissions and controls
Brakes and suspensions
Hydraulics
Various vehicles and equipment such as bucket trucks and digger/derricks
Electrical systems on trucks and equipment

Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, push/pull, and lift /carry up to 100 lbs

Working conditions - TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Frequently works outdoors. Exposed to various weather conditions, temperatures, noise levels, and heights of up to 150 feet. Requires travel - Approximately (but not limited to) 95% within 2 hours of the Richmond area and approximately 5% of the time will require onsite assistance in our shop.
Other:
Mechanic shall provide basic hand tools. Heavy equipment and specialized tooling and test equipment will be supplied by the organization.

Summary: Responsible for repairing, setting up, assembling, adjusting, and maintaining any and all types of construction equipment owned by CSE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
a.Receives, stores, and draws supplies and tools for use on a project.
b.Performs proper procedures for the care of existing tools.
c.Schedules preventative maintenance and required repairs on fixed and mobile equipment.
d.Assembles, sets up, adjusts, maintains, and repairs any and all types of equipment including but not limited to: vehicles, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and cranes.
e.Performs major and minor repairs on company vehicles; Services with fuel, oil, air, water, and fluids on a rotational basis. Checks alignment of steering wheel and rotates tires.
f.Uses a cutting torch, brazes and welds as necessary.
g.Demonstrates proficiency for diagnosing and repairing equipment in a safe and productive manner.
h.Familiar with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations, CSE, Inc. Rules and Regulations and Site-Specific Rules and Regulations.
