    Job Description This is a part-time,15 hours per week position. SCOPE OF WORK: Provides Exercise & Health Science Program with administrative and program support focused on program promotion and student success. This position shall report to the Department Chair for Nursing and Allied Health. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assists Exercise & Health Science Program with general office and program support functions focused on program promotion and student success. Assists Exercise & Health Science Program with organizing, promoting and implementing special events. Attends promotional and admission sponsored events, including but not limited to Open House, student orientations and advising days, both on and off campus. Communicates courteously and effectively with the public and students via phone, email, written correspondence and in person. Maintains a social media presence on Facebook and Instagram. Develops and maintains program bulletin boards/social media providing information related to program expectations, policies, events, career opportunities and civic engagement activities. Assists in the preparation/administration of program forms and documents used for advising, tacking and program promotion. Assists in maintaining lab and classroom equipment and appearance. Serves as co-advisor and promotes participation in Health Fitness Club activities. Promotes and attends professional seminars and workshops with students. Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate's degree from a recognized college or technical institutes with a major study in exercise science. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Experience: Two (2) years of experience in administrative support, marketing, and/or a customer service related field, with responsibility for providing program information to others. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in an academic institution preferred. Maintain a National Health and Fitness certification accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), ACE certification preferred. RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Knowledge of English, spelling and arithmetic. Knowledge of the procedures and practices involved in interviewing. Knowledge of office record keeping and reporting. Knowledge of the regulations pertaining to departmental programs.
