This individual reports directly to the Head Field Hockey and is responsible for specific coaching and recruiting duties as designated by the head coach. Duties and Responsibilities The assistant coach helps plan and implement the in-season and off-season training schedule for field hockey student athletes. In addition, helps formulate daily practice and weekly game practice plans. Attends and participates in Children's Outcome Assessment Team/School Readiness meetings (COAT/SR) for the purpose of aligning professional development to school readiness needs. Maintains contact and communication with program director, education managers, and any other relevant staff. Is a Pre-K Reliable Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) observer. Eats with children as needed sharing the same menu while demonstrating socially acceptable behaviors and manners. Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisors and other management as required. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in meetings, job related trainings and continuing education programs as required or suggested by HHS and sponsoring organizations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide direct coaching and care to participants through provision of basic needs, adherence to a harm reduction model, best practices, and client-centered approach. • Build rapport, supervise, and support participants. • Model appropriate living and life skills, recreational activities, and daily meaningful activities to enable community connection. • Assist with participant case work through maintaining case records, service plans, other documentation, and communication with program staff. • Teach and model a spectrum of basic life skills in the home and with participants with an overnight focus. • Work with the Chief Program Officer, Case Management team and participants to assist in creating opportunities related to goals within the home. • Maintain all documentation and ensure appropriate file management procedures are followed. • Comply and adhere to organizational mission and funder standards (health, fire, safety, city etc.) related to health and safety. • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders and act as a point of contact for the SELF + Cooperative program. • Visit tenant sites as needed. • Related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Some post-secondary training in a human service field and 1 year of related work experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail • Proficient or better in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. • Working knowledge and experience with harm reduction, person-centered, trauma-informed, behavior modification, natural law, strength based, collaborative, and/or solution focused practice (willingness to obtain). • Proven ability to foster a team environment. • Experience working in collaborative partnerships. • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies at all levels, react quickly and appropriately in an emergency, and a commitment to customer service orientation. • Must embrace an open-door management style. • Ability to respond with flexibility in cooperation with emergency requests, changes in work schedule or assignment.
