Eligibility Assessment: Evaluate and determine applicant eligibility for the WIC program in accordance with established guidelines.
Personalized Nutrition Counseling: Deliver tailored nutrition education and counseling to WIC participants, supporting healthy lifestyle choices and dietary habits.
Health & Social Service Referrals: Identify participant needs and provide referrals to appropriate health care providers and community resources.
Educational Outreach & Engagement: Share nutrition information through dynamic presentations using a variety of formats, including printed materials, visual displays, interactive demonstrations, and group sessions.
Health Screenings & Assessments: Perform anthropometric measurements, interpret growth charts, and conduct hematological testing to monitor participant health.
Nutritional Risk Evaluation: Analyze individual nutritional concerns and determine medical/nutritional risk factors to guide intervention strategies.
Policy Communication: Clearly interpret and communicate public health nutrition policies, procedures, and best practices to individuals and community groups.

Qualifications:
Educational Background: Registered or eligible for registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a focus in one of the following areas: food and nutrition, community nutrition, public health nutrition, nutrition education, human nutrition, nutrition science, or a closely related field.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is desired. Alternatively, one year of graduate-level coursework in a related field may be considered in place of professional experience.
Compliance & Health Clearances: Must successfully complete all required background checks, physical examination, and TB testing.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions in English. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Haitian-Creole, or Arabic is desirable.
Transportation: Reliable transportation is required, along with the ability to travel to satellite clinics to maintain consistent and timely attendance.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of addressing practical challenges and interpreting a variety of instructions in both written and verbal formats.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and able to learn and navigate WIC-related software systems.

JOB SUMMARY
This part-time position involves the administration of domestic violence intervention groups.
The position was created to fulfill the role of providing court ordered group psycho-educational sessions for those convicted of domestic violence offenses, and who are under probation or parole supervision with the Lancaster County Adult Probation and Parole Services.
The group facilitator focuses on interventions that will stop abusive and / or battering behavior.
Through the use of group dynamics, the facilitator will provide an atmosphere that is conducive to positive change in the offender's behavior, as well as holding offenders accountable to participate and fulfill the group assignments in a meaningful manner.
Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 1. Facilitate treatment/intervention groups for domestic violence offenders/batterers; 2. Provide the probation office with a periodic assessment of individual client and group progress; 3. Provide domestic violence curriculum instruction; 4. Discuss with group members issues of domestic violence that correlate with their specific actions of domestic violence; 5. Use modeling and coaching as an avenue to teach nonviolent behavior and proper management of anger; 6. Respond to crisis and provide sound interventions as they may occur in the group sessions.
It is expected that this employee will closely adhere to the pre-established domestic violence curriculum in the process of facilitating each group session, as well as instructions issued by Adult Probation and Parole Services.
Each group session is staffed by two facilitators, and each session is broken down into the following time lengths: pre- and post-group preparation time is one half hour, and group time is two hours. Each group facilitator is expected to be committed to complete the group series which is 20 weeks long.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports directly to a Supervisor in Adult Probation and Parole Services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
85% Facilitate Domestic Violence Intervention groups using curriculum, instructional material, handouts, and videos as supplied and approved for group use by Lancaster County Adult Probation and Parole Services. Plan and implement group activities that support the overall curriculum. Employ specific principles and strategies for increasing client motivation. Elicit possible change strategies from the client.
15% Maintain attendance logs and complete all necessary review forms as participants reach certain milestones. Provide accurate and comprehensive case notes on each offender via a web-based computer program. Provide verbal and written feedback regarding reportable incidents, any threats, or incidents that may compromise the safety of any individual person or property.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Education Certification Evaluator, you will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating qualifications for various types of certification applications. This includes evaluating test scores, coursework, professional experience, and the recommendation for certification from PA colleges and universities. Work also involves approving applications and authorizing the issuance of appropriate certifications using the Teacher Information Management System (TIMS) and when necessary, contacting applicants regarding missing information that is required for the certification. You will have the opportunity to assist educators in navigating PDE's website and the TIMS, reporting any issues with the website and/or system to appropriate staff and assisting with research to resolve issues. Additional responsibilities include:
Tracking assigned or pending applications in the TIMS
Corresponding with colleges, universities, or school districts
Utilizing the Bureau knowledge base and standard operating procedures, to ensure correct application of relevant laws, regulations, and policies regarding teacher certifications
Staffing the Certification Call Center in order to answer all incoming phone calls
Handling inquiries from the education community on a daily basis

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of clerical experience with three months experience in direct data entry/retrieval on a computer terminal and six months experience with educational credential certification laws, rules, and regulations; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

We offer a flexible schedule, supportive staff and management, and access to the gym, pool and other amenities.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Lifeguard is trained to be responsible for ensuring the safety of a pool facility and its patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are required to test the pool water to ensure the chemicals are in the proper ranges, and to skim and vacuum the pool daily. Light cleaning is required for the area surrounding the pool. The Lifeguard works under the supervision of the Head Lifeguard.
The Upper St. Clair Community & Recreation Center provides our members and guests with a comprehensive range of recreation services including: fitness programs, swim programs (indoor and outdoor), summer camps, youth programs, older adult programs, and more.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prevents accidents and minimizes or eliminates hazardous situations.
Responds quickly to all emergency situations in the water and performs water rescues.
Administers first aid as needed to the victim (member, visitor, or staff).
Communicates with other lifeguards and facility staff the need for additional assistance or equipment.
Observes and enforces all rules and regulations of the facility pertaining to both staff and patrons at all times.
Educates patrons and informs them of the purpose of and the need for rules and regulations.
Identifies and assists patrons needing assistance.
Performs various pool maintenance functions which include periodical chemical checks, the handling and dispersing of pool chemicals and wearing and using respirators, standing, bending, climbing, lifting at least fifty pounds, and the ability to read gauges and test kits involving color distinction.
Performs other pool maintenance functions such as but not limited to cleaning baskets, vacuuming pool, etc.
Assists in planning, implementing and enforcing staff rotation and schedules.
Responsible for handling questions and concerns from patrons.
Assists the Aquatic Supervisor with in-service training of staff.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and Abilities
Must possess a current (must not be expired) American Red Cross
Lifeguard Training Certificate. YMCA equivalent acceptable.
Must possess a current (must not be expired) American Red Cross CPR for Professional Rescuer certificate.
Must possess a current (must not be expired) American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate.
Must possess a current (must not be expired) American Red Cross AED
Must be able to perform strenuous water rescues, give CPR and first aid.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Knowledge of proper rescue techniques and proper use of rescue equipment.
Ability to work with different age groups.
Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions.
Ability to work flexible hours with evening, weekend and holiday work required.
Ability to appear on time for work and notify the appropriate individual if unable to work.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the public.
Ability to perform the duties of the job for the scheduled workday.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously or in rapid succession.
Ability to concentrate and accomplish tasks despite interruptions.
Ability to work with minimal daily supervision.
Experience and Training
Lifeguard experience at an aquatic facility is preferred.
Must be certified in Lifeguarding and CPR/AED.
