Summary: The Clinician serves as a member of the Community Strategies of MA (CSMA) Clinical Department, working collaboratively with the CSMA Operations teams, to support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, varying mental health diagnoses, and behavioral challenges. The Clinician is dedicated to addressing the unique behavioral and mental health needs of the individuals living in CSMA residential and/or shared living placements. They are responsible for the development and delivery of effective clinical services using the principles of Positive Behavior Supports (PBS). The Clinician collaborates with members of the CSMA team to identify challenges within the environment, create support plans to increase positive behaviors and social skills to promote independence, and provide training and modeling to direct care staff.
Responsibilities:
Actively participate as a dynamic member of a support team to plan, develop and implement services.
Develop and maintain, in collaboration with members of the support team, effective individualized Positive Behavior Supports Plans based on the principles of PBS.
Develop and maintain Psychotropic Medication Treatment Plans and Medication Augmentation procedures based on medication documentation, symptom data and consultation with psychiatric providers.
Maintain current approvals of Positive Behavior Support plans and other clinical documentation by necessary committees and team members.
Effectively communicate with families, guardians, the Department of Developmental Services, the Department of Mental Health, and other agencies and providers concerning clinical concerns and progress of individuals served.
Provide consultation for crisis management and emergency implementation of procedures on an on-call basis.
Conduct engaging training for residential supervisors, shared living providers, and direct care staff to help develop their knowledge of clinical and programmatic procedures and effectively support the individuals we serve.
Develop accurate data tracking metrics and analyze collected data to measure the effects of behavior modification procedures and to inform goals of treatment.
Develop and implement effective procedures to teach social skills and emotional regulation skills for individuals and groups.
Provide individual and group therapy as needed, and document progress.
Document communication with individuals and teams.
Prepare for and actively participate in internal and external meetings; provide current clinical updates and progress, contribute approaches and procedures to effectively support individuals and teams. Meetings include but are not limited to Clinical Department, PBS Leadership, program staff meetings, ISPs, Risk meetings, and team meetings.
Qualifications:
Master's degree required.
LCSW, BCBA/LABA, LMHC preferred.
Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, or behavioral challenges preferred.
Experience designing and implementing support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and/or challenging behaviors preferred.
Understanding of Positive Behavior Supports preferred.

Seeking Licensed Eligible Clinicians to work in a team environment providing care to adults and youth in CHD's CBHC Adult or Youth Mobile Crisis. These programs offer 24/7 support, assessment, care coordination, and follow up to those clients experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. All CBHC Programs are located in one location and integrated highly to treat individuals and families throughout the care continuum.
Open 7 days per week, with the intention of offering the right service at the right time, all shifts are available. The ideal clinician will have a master's degree that prepares them for independent licensure.
Oriented to offering a continuum of care across all services, the right candidate will be dynamic, curious, and person-centered and demonstrate initiative.
Job Responsibilities:
Clinician works to engage on-site, or in some cases over telehealth, clients in behavioral health crisis. They will work to establish crisis assessments, care coordinators, maintain safety of client and others collaborate with family or other community supports as identified by client, offer timely and appropriate interventions, and plan discharge to appropriate levels of care.
Clinician knows and updates a body of clinical knowledge used to gather and analyze client problems. Clinician knows, maintains and uses a set of treatment methods which are appropriate to the diagnosis and which are consistent with accepted practice standards for the field of social work or mental health counseling.
Clinician learns and follows practices for the protection of personal health information and reports any breaches of such practice immediately.
Clinician interacts with colleagues, supervisors and helping professionals outside of CHD on behalf of the client and communicates in a professional manner to support the client's treatment goals. Clinician will attend external agency meetings, clinic staff meetings, and periodic trainings as required and attends regular individual supervision meetings.
The clinician fulfills the mission and the core values of the agency, and represents these values to clients and community contacts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Clinician holds a Master's in mental health counseling, social work or related field
Clinicians eligible for licensure will provide a copy of their professional license and must renew /maintain their license in good standing. Clinicians will complete and update any documentation required for the credentialing process.
Proficient in verbal and written communication. Able to utilize a computer and become competent in the use of an electronic health record.
Access to reliable transportation.
Be able to pass a CORI and driving background check.

YOUR ROLE AS CO-RESPONSE CRISIS CLINICIAN:
You will support Police Departments' speedy and efficient response to behavioral health calls and follow-ups. The Clinician provides services as a member of both the CHD Adult Mobile Crisis Intervention (AMCI) and Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention (YMCI) programs, and the conjoined CBHC Outpatient Clinic and Crisis Stabilization Programs.
Co-response clinicians will provide crisis triage, evaluations, disposition recommendations, follow up interventions, stabilization planning, and referral planning for immediate resources. Clinicians will assess needs, determine least restrictive level of care, and arrange treatment transition and engagement.⯠They will know and be able to recommend and/or utilize the breadth of internal agency and external community resources in intervention planning. Evaluations will occur in the communities served and expected to be in a wide variety of settings. The clinician will have space in the Police Departments to conduct evaluations, team-build with PD staff, and to be available as quickly as possible to support PD.
Requirements:â¯Master's Degreeâ¯in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field.⯠LCSW, LICSW or LMHC license is required.
