1895

Indian Motorcycle® got its initial start in bike manufacturing in 1895.

1898

His projects were re-acquired and in 1898 Hendee set up shop.

1901

As Hendee built his bicycle company a man essential to the growth and success of the brand would become a part of the conglomerate in January of 1901.

1940

By 1940 the merger was viewed as an overall success as Indian Motorcycle® was hot on Harley-Davidson®'s heels as the best-selling motorcycle in the United States.

1942

That company was founded back in 1942 and was revolutionary in the powersports world.

1953

After the company went under in 1953 Indian Motorcycle® as a brand and company would experience a change of hands regularly for the next 50 plus years.

2002

The first Can-Am manufacturer-approved four wheeler able to handle two passengers arrived in 2002.

2011

With this motorcycle success story already in place the company announced the purchase of the Indian Motorcycle® rights in 2011.
