SUMMARY:
The Construction Superintendent is accountable for overseeing all company construction operations to implement profitable and successful projects that deliver excellent client relationships for returning business while creating a team-oriented work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads and upholds adherence to safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, health & safety laws are being met in relation to but not limited to OSHA, AAP, DOL, Union(s) and DOT.
Responsible for overseeing fundamental project management practices such as construction progress tracking, financial forecasting, project documentation management, problem solving and dispute resolution.
Subject matter expert on all project terms and conditions of the prime contract with owner; identifying and communicating any necessary variations as needed. Comprehends each operational detail the subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring that they each are upheld to contract agreement per set standards.
Drives results that exceed project cost budget by implementing effective cost controls over subcontractors, vendors, material, equipment, and other related expenditures.
Review reports on a weekly basis to verify completed accurately, effectively, and timely.
Accountable for ensuring that the project team is versed in planning, productivity, efficiency, crew size, quality workmanship, and safety protocols to ensure projects are constructed expeditiously and profitably.
Confirms that all site employees, including trade contractors and subcontractors are adhering to all company expected work performance quality.
Effectively build external talent and collaborate with team on staff retention through career progression plans and identifying opportunities for training to advance internally, ensuring maintaining regular employee performance discussions on an as needed and ongoing basis.
Leads initiatives of all project schedules with project management team to ensure scheduled plans are being executed while reviewing future week(s) schedule. Facilitate discussions on current progress and communicate outstanding items that enforce delivery of schedule requirements.
Promotes “Together, We Build On Trust” with on-site leadership project team members through techniques that motivate producing productivity goals and adherence to responsibilities and expectations.
Implement excellent communication strategies with regional labor union leaders, clients, and subcontractors, vendors to maintain excellent relationships that build trusted partnerships and future relationships.
Responsible for performing other duties and tasks as assigned and/or directed.
SUPERVISION:
Accountable for directly managing and monitoring performance and expectations of field superintendent staff, indirectly all field personnel through consistent feedback and following set policies and procedures that identify opportunities for advancement, training, and development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experience
Minimum of seven (7) years in construction industry working with subcontractors, suppliers, and direct personnel, required, degree from an accredited university in field of study, preferred.
Oversee multiple construction projects from start to finish with experience with projects in excess of $20M, required.
Knowledge
Proficient usage of all Microsoft applications, required, Procore and OpenSpace application, preferred.
Expert application of project documentation and construction software required.
Skilled in processes and procedures involved in specifications, scheduling, drawing, reading, contract expectations, equipment, and workforce, required.

**Overview**
The Field Superintendent is responsible to provide complete project field leadership and direction for day-to-day operations of the assigned project(s),in partnership with the Project Manager and clients facility team. Duties
Oversee ecological construction operations throughout the Northeastern US with current focus in New York State.
Estimating and proposal preparation.
Business development activities including but not limited to attending conferences, networking events and other tasks designed to grow this business sector.
Project management, including tracking project budgets, client interaction, scheduling staff and equipment, reviewing deliverables, interacting with agency representatives, etc.
Supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with public agencies, regulators, private developers, consulting and engineering firms and non-profits to further business development goals.
Program budgeting and strategic planning.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, ecology, geography or related field.
Experience: 12-20 years of experience with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in the industry.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Well versed in relevant NY State and Federal regulations.
Experience leading and mentoring junior staff.
Demonstrated ability to pursue, establish and maintain client business relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Training.
Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP) or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification a plus.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000

Key Responsibilities:
Field Supervision & Execution
Direct the daily activities of subcontractors responsible for installing plumbing, sanitary, domestic water, storm drainage, and fire protection systems.
Ensure compliance with design specifications, project documents, applicable codes (IPC, NFPA, local AHJ), and safety standards.
Manage equipment placement, pipe routing, valve installation, fixture mounting, and fire suppression systems (wet, dry, pre-action).
Verify that materials and equipment are installed per approved submittals and shop drawings.
Schedule Management & Coordination
Develop and manage 3-week lookahead schedules for plumbing and fire protection scopes.
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and civil trades to ensure proper sequencing, avoid clashes, and support startup/commissioning.
Identify schedule risks and work with project leadership to maintain milestone progress.
Quality Control & Compliance
Conduct field inspections and QA/QC checks to verify correct installation, system integrity, labeling, and proper support.
Ensure systems pass required inspections and pressure tests prior to concealment or turnover.
Support documentation for commissioning, testing, and system signoff (e.g., hydrostatic testing, fire alarm tie-ins).
Safety Leadership

Overview
The Field Superintendent is responsible to provide complete project field leadership and direction for day-to-day operations of the assigned project(s),in partnership with the Project Manager and clients facility team. Project safety. Responsible for maintenance, look ahead projections, and accurate reporting of the Project Schedule. Perform updates as needed for the project, monitor logic relationship integrity, develop, and implement recovery plans as needed, and lead the project efforts to support the overall schedule.
Responsible for coordination of all site construction activities for the project as required to successfully execute the project schedule and Construction Documents. This includes actively managing and mitigating project constraints, overseeing the Site Quality Assurance Plan, supervising all trade partners' activity and Contract compliance, coordination of all vendor deliveries, all while being responsible for compliance to the Site-Specific Safety Plan.
Manages the scheduling of, and attends as necessary, site inspections of work with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), third party inspectors, design professionals, local utilities, and/or clients.
Ensure coordination of installation between trades and driving trade partner progress in accordance with the Project Schedule.
