Navy Culinary Specialists provide food service catering for admirals and senior government executives and operate the White House Mess for the President of the United States. Responsibilities The duties performed by Culinary Specialists include: Preparing menus and ordering the quantities and types of food items necessary to prepare meals. Operating kitchen and dining facilities. Maintaining subsistence inventories and financial records. Serving as personal food service specialists in commanding officers and admirals messes. Ensure customer satisfaction is met with the highest standard and regard for the overall guest experience. Complete any additional duties/tasks assigned. Qualifications Position requires flexibility in scheduling including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays Must have attention to detail, strong ability to multi-task, and time-management skills Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to complete repetitive motions throughout shift such as reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, etc. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills Must be trained or willing to be trained in First Aid/CPR/AED Must have or be able to obtain a SafeStaff certification within 30 days of employment Must have at least 1 year experience as a cook in a high volume restaurant, food truck or bar Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to lift, push, carry, and pull up to 50lbs.
