Position Summary: The school counselor promotes student success, provides preventive services, and responds to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive developmental school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development of high school grade students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Master's degree in school counseling or related field; i.e., social work, or clinical counseling.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses:
• Oklahoma teaching certificate in school counseling or willing to apply and obtain alternative certification through the State Dept. of Education.
Experience:
• Two years' teaching experience preferred

SUMMARY OF DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively work towards the eradication of interpersonal violence through prevention work with perpetrators of violence. Provide professional psycho-education curriculum to offenders of domestic violence who are recommended, or court ordered to complete a Batterer's Intervention Program. Services include individual assessments, crisis intervention, and facilitating psycho-educational groups.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for completing 1-4 intakes per week
Responsible for providing crises services on an as needed basis for clients currently enrolled in the Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP).
Responsible for writing initial court reports, updating court reports, producing timely completion court reports, and termination court reports for all BIP clients.
Responsible for consistently communicating with court personnel by providing weekly compliance reports for the court.
Responsible for collaboration with court officials, DHS, and other partners to provide accountability and coordination of care for all BIP clients.
Responsible for periodically attending BIP provider meetings and court hearings.
Responsible for working with other DVIS departments and federal, state and local agencies regarding client matters.
Ability to work individually and in a team setting.
