POSITION REQUIREMENTS Level 1 Residential Treatment Specialist 1. A High School diploma is required. Bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred. 2. Must be 19 years of age or older, and have one year demonstrated experience with youth. Previous experience with adolescents in a residential setting strongly preferred. 3. Demonstrate the ability to form and maintain nurturing relationships with emotionally disturbed children. 4. Ability to complete written documentation. 5. Must have a current driver's license and driver's insurance. Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work. 6. Demonstrate proven sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Children's Home clients and staff. 7. Must be willing to spend meal period eating with the clients on a regular basis. Level 2 Residential Treatment Specialist 1. Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services. Will consider other degrees in fields that emphasize communication skills, problem solving skills, understanding and interacting with others of diverse backgrounds, and knowledge of group and individual behaviors.     The Licensed Behavioral Health Staff is an active member of the Mobile Response stabilization Services (MRSS) program and provides support services to consumers and families who have experienced a behavioral health crisis. Under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Licensed Behavioral Health Staff provides immediate crisis assessment using appropriate screening tools and evaluations to determine safety risks and provide follow-up intervention and stabilization services to youth and families in the least restrictive setting that is clinically appropriate. They will assist in the identification of issues that contribute to a crisis and may create future crises if left untreated. Evaluators will develop and revise individualized crisis safety plans. As needed, Evaluators will facilitate hospital admission and arrangement of transportation. They also will be responsible for assisting in follow-up during the 7-day post-crisis period. The MRSS Team is responsible for 24/7 mobile emergency responses (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. face to face and 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. telephonic) for youth and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis in Montgomery or Preble counties in Ohio. The MRSS team operates from a strengths-based perspective, collaborating with first responders, community stakeholders, clinical leadership, and fellow mobile crisis responders. The MRSS team will work within a culture of crisis prevention, making every effort to ensure individuals are effectively stabilized within their home and community whenever possible. The MRSS team will ensure appropriate follow-up for individuals who have experienced a crisis event and ensure linkage to ongoing supports and services, operating in an enhanced localized crisis response system contributing to the goal of increased community stabilization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides initial and ongoing mobile responses, inclusive of risk assessments for a young person in crisis. Attends to safety and clinical concerns that require additional consultation, clinical intervention or assessment. De-escalates the presenting crisis during the initial mobile response and subsequent crises during MRSS care. Co-create and update safety and MRSS Plans with the young person and family. Provide telephonic consultation to MRSS staff when the initial mobile response team is made up of non-licensed staff. Conduct necessary assessments to determine young person and family needs, strengths, and protective factors including the use of the Ohio Children's Initiative Brief CANS when appropriate as identified in the Ohio Administrative Code. For those instances when the initial mobile response team consists of unlicensed staff, the licensed staff coordinates with the unlicensed team to conduct the remaining elements of the initial mobile response phase when warranted (i.e. crisis assessment, MSE, lethality assessment etc.). Works with the youth and family to establish and achieve family defined goals; develop skills to prevent future crises; and determine what other types of services and supports are needed. Secure appropriate approvals on plans and plan revisions. Co-develops and initiates a transition plan to clinical and natural supports. Collaborates with the MRSS peer supporters and paraprofessionals to define and achieve family goals. Articulates the mission, vision and practices of the MRSS program. Communicates the practice expectations of the emergency response system to consumers, community partners, and Responds to crisis referrals according to Choices' policy. Provides back up when requested/as available if contacted by first Adheres to the policies and protocols established by Choices for the management of a 24/7 mobile crisis response Incorporates the guiding principles and values of Systems of Care into their interactions with youth and families, fellow team members, Choices staff and system Communicates effectively with Choices Leadership Team to ensure collaborative efforts and proactive response to issues and Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers. This role combines clinical expertise in mental health with external-facing responsibilities such as outreach, client engagement, grant support, and marketing communications. Key Responsibilities Clinical Services Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.). Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnose using DSM-5 criteria. Develop, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and families. Complete timely and accurate documentation, including session notes, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. Respond to client crises, complete risk assessments, and develop safety plans when needed. Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure holistic, coordinated care. Provide psychoeducation to clients and families to support long-term wellness and service engagement. Ensure compliance with ethical standards, CARF/state regulations, and Medicaid billing requirements. Track and report client outcomes and progress to support quality improvement efforts. Review progress notes Community Engagement & Partnerships Build and sustain strong partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, and community agencies. Represent the organization at resource fairs, school events, community meetings, and conferences. Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit and retain clients. Serve as the primary liaison for assigned partner agencies, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration. Identify community needs and recommend new service opportunities or program enhancements. Lead presentations, workshops, and training sessions for partners, parents, and community stakeholders. Support referral pipeline management, ensuring referrals are tracked, followed up, and converted to active clients. Marketing & Communications Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the organization's services and mission. Create and manage content for newsletters, press releases, brochures, and social media platforms. Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging, branding, and outreach campaigns. Support the development of culturally competent marketing materials that are accessible to diverse communities. Monitor marketing metrics and outreach engagement to evaluate campaign effectiveness. Represent the organization professionally in media, public speaking engagements, and community events. Grant Writing, Fundraising & Resource Development Assist with researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals, letters of intent, and funding requests. Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and assist in compiling required data. Support donor relations and fundraising campaigns by providing program data and success stories. Develop culturally competent and accessible client resources (guides, brochures, presentations). Maintain an updated database of referral sources and community partners. Collect and analyze outreach, referral, and engagement data for leadership reports. Identify and recommend opportunities for new contracts, MOUs, or expansion of services. Organizational Support Actively participate in staff meetings, clinical supervision, and professional development opportunities. Provide input on program development, service gaps, and process improvements. Support compliance efforts by adhering to agency, state, and federal documentation and reporting requirements. Serve as an ambassador of the organization, upholding its mission, vision, and values in all interactions. Assist with onboarding new staff or interns by sharing community resources, documentation practices, and agency culture. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director. Qualifications Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marketing, or a related field. Active state licensure as LSW, LPC, LMFT, or higher Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in therapy, assessments, and treatment planning. Strong knowledge of behavioral health systems, DSM-5 diagnoses, and evidence-based interventions. Demonstrated experience with marketing, communications, or community outreach preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and report writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and EHR systems.
