    The Research in Education and Learning Lab is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing projects related to learning and motivation in educational contexts. . Research Assistants will contribute to a range of tasks, including data collection, transcription, coding, data processing, and preliminary data analysis. They may also assist with the preparation of grants and manuscripts for publication. Extensive training will be provided, and the ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative attitude. This position requires approximately 10-15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling and the ability to work remotely. The laboratory is a complexity level index group 1, performing over 4 million billable tests annually. The purpose of the position is to manage the Ancillary Testing, Blood Bank/ Hematology, Auto Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Microbiology, Second Shift, Third Shift, Phlebotomy and Processing, Esoteric Testing Sections which directly affects the ability of the PALMS to provide good quality patient care in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The work involves isolating and defining unknown conditions, resolving critical problems, or developing new protocols. The work generated and service performed in the CP lab affects the decisions of other experts in almost all areas of clinical medicine and has direct impact on the wellbeing of substantial numbers of people. The incumbent establishes, develops, and modifies analytic methodology, validations, quality control systems, and provides training for the technical staff. The incumbent will provide direct supervision to the Section supervisory staff. The incumbent is responsible for identifying, researching and preparing supply contract requirement. Researching, identifying and recommending equipment purchases or leases for equipment in all Clinical Pathology Sections. The manager independently plans and carries out assignments in order to accomplish the goals of the PALMS and initiates and completes new projects which extend the applications of the current technologies and incorporate new technological advances. The incumbent supervises a staff of supervisory personnel and one GS-12 supervisory position. Performs testing and phlebotomy as necessary.
