Position Summary:
Under general direction, the IT ClinicalPharmacist will be a licensed pharmacist resource in support of the implementation of IT projects. Pharmacist expertise and general facility operational knowledge is a critical part of building and maintaining the clinical application systems.
Responsibilities
Provide expertise of pharmaceutical, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic rules to be utilized in the implementation and maintenance of Information Services projects.
Focus on patient-safety centered medication delivery processes.
Provide clinical expertise and relevance in building decision support notices to be displayed to physicians during order entry.
Drive the standardization of the pharmacy departments' clinical and distributive functions to assure quality and safe continuum of care across the health care system.
Link the projects with the medication safety practices and coordination of process efforts.
Provide a consistent level of communication with physicians and other clinicians across Covenant in regards to clinical efficacy and therapeutics in medication delivery.
Assist in training, promotion and implementation of IT projects.
Bridge the communication between the daily operational aspects of the facility pharmacies and the critical decisions involving application development, build and implementation.
Local travel required.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Three to five (3-5) years of hospital experience in a management or “super-user” position required.
Pharmacist licensed in Tennessee with Cerner/Oracle Millennium experience. Informatics/computer experience is a plus but not required. This position is for 3 to 4 days per pay period.
Licensure Requirement: Currently holds a state license to practice Pharmacy. Must be currently licensed in the state of Tennessee or must become licensed in the State of Tennessee within 6 months of employment with Covenant Health. Employee must have a valid driver's license Class D in state of residency and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.

The Clinical Oncology Pharmacist is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to patients in the inpatient and ambulatory care settings. Oncology Pharmacists work closely with physicians, APPs, and nurses to provide comprehensive patient care. Oncology pharmacists support teaching and learning throughout our community and support clinical research, practice advancement, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Job Summary
The MGBMG Pharmacy Department aims to expand clinical pharmacy services across the Mass General Brigham Medical Group (MGBMG) locations in a way that enhances the patient experience, health outcomes, and quality. One of the key goals is ensuring that our patients with chronic diseases are supported in achieving clinical outcomes known to reduce morbidity and mortality from these conditions. Pharmacists can play a key role in this goal by offering higher touch services (medication prescribing, monitoring, education) to patients that are struggling with chronic disease management. Working with primary care providers, population health coordinators, high-risk nursing programs, and community health workers, the pharmacist has the potential to positively impact patients through virtual, in-person appointments, and telemedicine.
In collaboration with the MGBMG team, the Ambulatory ClinicalPharmacist will monitor the medication use process in accordance with the laws and regulations governing credentialed pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy by the appropriate state and federal agencies. They will work relatively independently, and within the limits of established pharmacy/ambulatory care practice site policies and procedures, as a member of the patient care team. The Opportunity
The Medicare Advantage ClinicalPharmacist is responsible for optimizing medication therapy and improving health outcomes for patients enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans within the health system.
