At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. Position Summary:
Performs physician defined routine and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures. Provides support assistance/activities as needed.
Responsibilities
Performs routine diagnostic imaging procedures through technical expertise of equipment and procedure protocol. Technically proficient in the operation and quality control aspects of scanning and image recording equipment specific to the assigned work area. Evaluates equipment performance, initiates corrective action when necessary, and maintains records for the quality control program of gamma camera imaging systems in accordance with federal and state regulations and institutional polices. Collaborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner. Completes and verifies accurate informed consents.
Performs procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic intervention.
Maintains established radiation safety standards that involves practicing techniques that will minimize radiation exposure to the patient, health care personnel, and general public, through consistently using protective devices, shields, dose reduction, and monitors consistent with ALARA principles and establishing protocols for managing spills and unplanned releases of radiation. Knowledgeable and proficient in the safe handling, security, and storage of radiopharmaceuticals. This includes, but is not limited to, the procurement, identification, dose calculation, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals. It also includes all associated documentation and disposal as appropriate. Proficient in the documentation and record keeping as regulated and required by the State, Joint Commission, ACR and NRC to include the handling and administration of radioisotopes.
Proficient in the utilization of appropriate techniques, radiopharmaceuticals, and adjunctive medications as part of a standard protocol to ensure quality diagnostic images and/or laboratory results. Obtains biological samples to perform testing as required for the optimization of patient care and quality of diagnostic procedures. Proficient in oral administration of radioisotopes. Performs venipuncture, starts and maintains intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed dependent practitioner. Ensures correct drug, procedure and supply charging, stock maintenance and vendor ordering procedure. Practices aseptic technique and applies universal precautions at all times. Applies appropriate infection prevention techniques and processes.
Educate, train, orient and assist new staff members. Provide education for student technologists. Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Assists licensed independent practitioner with interventional procedure, including time outs according to policy. Proficient in patient assessment, monitoring and sterile technique as required. . Assumes responsibility for patient needs before, during and post procedures; proactively assists patients, families, licensed independent practitioners and visitors as needed.
Stays current in Basic Life Support (BLS) and performs BLS as needed.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Upon arrival, the AEMT performs triage and initial survey, provides emergency care through careful assessment of the patient, and recognizes injuries and illnesses. The AEMT shall also gain knowledge of pre-existing medical conditions, previous medications, medical preferences, and identification of the patient.
Responsibilities
After proper training, the AEMT may administer epinephrine for the treatment of anaphylaxis and cardiac arrest, airway management and/or oxygen administration with a Blind-Insertion airway device (BIAD), and provide other interventions within their scope of practice as approved by the EMS Medical Director.
Renders necessary emergency care for acute illness or injury, including medical emergencies, traumatic injury, behavioral health emergencies, or other associated care of chronic comorbid conditions.
Reports essential information concerning the patient, the patient's medical condition, and treatment to the medical personnel who assume responsibility for continuing care of the patient.
Utilizes EMS telecommunications for coordination and information exchange with EMS dispatchers, medical facilities, online medical control, and other system users, and conducts radio transmissions appropriately with regard for rules, regulations, and procedures.
Responsible for routine daily maintenance checks on the vehicle assigned to them and records results on the vehicle maintenance checklist; properly cleans and restocks assigned vehicles after each call; and refuels vehicle (at the designated service stations) after each call or when tank is less than 1/2 full.
Adheres to the Covenant Health EMS dress code while on duty.
Completes all mandatory Covenant Health training, mandatory Covenant Health EMS in-service training, as well as additional independent training to meet State of Tennessee minimal continuing education requirements.
Local travel required.
Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:

The pharmacist and techs work closely together to meet the needs of our patients. The pharmacy is newly renovated with Omnicell Carousels in the main Pharmacy and Omnicell nursing medication cabinets and anesthesia work Stations. The pharmacy also has a newly renovated IV Room and that is both Chapter 797 and 800 compliant and soon to have completed renovation of our OR Pharmacy Satellite also with a Chapter 797 IV Room. The pharmacy department is also highly involved in Medication Reconciliation on all of our admitted patients. This task is conducted by our Pharmacy Technicians working in conjunction with the nursing, pharmacy and medical staff out of the Emergency Department. Services provided include but not limited to: Pharmacokinetic dosing of medications, Renal Dosing of medications, Antibiotic Stewardship, formulary and auto-substitution of many medications as approved by the medical staff. We have a good relationship with the medical staff who provide a lot of leeway for the Pharmacy to expand and assist in patient care. Restocking of medications in all Omnicells throughout the house is also conducted by the pharmacy department.
Schedules: rotating shifts and weekends. Some of the staff work seven on seven off during the late evening and overnight shifts.
