Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have knowledge of all equipment and materials required for procedures described in the Emergency Care Center Policy/Procedure Manual and Nursing Service Procedure Manual. BCLS, ACLS, PALS and department specific competencies must be maintained. TNCC is preferred. BLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment. ACLS, and PALS must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Executes appropriate patient care by assisting the physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures. Supports team members before, during, and following procedures to assure optimal patient care. Registry may define responsibilities that are specific to each registry but does not limit activities under direct physician supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: Education: High School diploma/GED required. RegisteredNurse: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Alabama license. BCLS certification required within 90 days of employment. ACLS certification is required within 12 months of employment. EKG Competency Testing is required within the first 90 days of employment and annually: (Part 1) Visual identification of 6 Lethal Cardiac Rhythms, passing with a score of 100%; (Part 2) Basic EKG Rhythms written examination, passing with a score of 85% or higher. Experience:Cardiac catheterization for diagnostic and interventional procedures, cardiovascular patient care, radiographic special procedures and/or hemodynamic monitoring experience accepted. Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to adapt to a fast paced dynamic work environment related to changing daily work schedules, working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex cardiac disease and maintains absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of diagnostic procedures. Ability to learn techniques quickly and accurately.
