PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Verify proper dies are assembled in the press by using set up sheet and verify that the serial numbers on the furnace load sheet correspond with the serial numbers on the check off sheet. • Responsible for assisting the press operator on set up tear down of press dies; also checks that the throat opening, and guide tube are aligned. Report any die wear or abnormalities to operator or supervisor. • Checks lube equipment prior to running job and lubes dies according to lube procedure on weight ticket/procedure sheet. • Centers material on press. • Blows scale off the blocking base and pot by using a blow pipe. • Sets the laydown machine in proper position prior to running the first piece. • Contacts heat treat personnel prior to running the first piece. • After extrusion is laid down, reads extrusion length from proper scale on the conveyor and record length on the check off sheet. • Performs stencil of hot material. • Assists with general cleanup of shop area. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures. • Proficiency in basic mechanical tasks and equipment operation. • Attention to detail in verifying and documenting operational processes. • Strong communication skills to report abnormalities and collaborate effectively. • Capability to perform physical tasks involving standing, reaching, and lifting. • Capacity to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment while maintaining safety standards. • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team. EDUCATION: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Technical training or certification related to manufacturing operations is a plus.
